My client adviser says it could be up to a week after she lands before I pickup the car. Typically, they're waiting on the title.

From the time my car rolled into port, it took three days to get to the dealer (though the dealer initially stated it could take up to a week for delivery). The port of exit was Port Hueneme, and the dealer is just a few miles away in Camarillo. The dealer informed me that any significant delay would be the result of having the requisite number of cars to load on the truck for delivery to the dealer.

How close is your dealer to the port of exit?

I looked at the shipping schedules for the shipper, and took a guess. My dealer confirmed the name of the vessel. Your dealer should be able to confirm the name of the vessel on which your vehicle has been placed.

BMW's website updated to "in transit" within a day or two from the time my vehicle was on the boat. Are you certain your vehicle is on a boat?

Call genius and ask them. They often know before the website updates.

But the boat is more than halfway to NYC and if you're still showing "at port" it's unlikely you got on brother.

Port of NJ/NY is an hour from the dealer. It won't be the drive it will be the release process. Thanks for the info. When did you get your car?

Update:

I called Genius, and they said I'm on the Apollon Highway ship headed for the Port of Baltimore, due in on May 31st. Still trying to work out if I can do a PCD in South Carolina, we'll see...trying to get a date out of my salesperson.

My car arrived at port on April 16th, and I took delivery on April 19th. I was going to leave it at the dealer for a bit longer while a tried to find a place to ppf the car. However, when I went in to settle up with the dealer on the 19th, it was impossible not to drive the car off the lot at that time.

Fire orange is a bit of a head-turner, especially on the G80. Ole (my sales rep) said that pulling the car into the main showroom drew a bit of a crowd. Pic from the showroom floor attached.

Sounds like you don't have too much longer to wait.

BMW Newport. Not sure, they haven't said. I don't know how often a carrier goes form the VPC to here. I'm hoping Memorial day weekend but if not I would think it would be that first week of June.

I think there was a Wallenius Wilhelmsen ship leaving today, maybe you got on that. It took me 2 days to update to In Transit after leaving the port. I'd give it until Sunday and maybe your status will change. Once it goes to In Transit genius or your dealer can give you the ship name.
