Creative Allocation Techniques

I have been trying to find an allocation to order an M3, however, after talking to about 12 dealerships across the nation, I have consistently heard 9-12 months wait, and the deposit to get on a waiting list has ranged from $0-$5,000.

Has anyone found any creative ways to get an allocation faster? For example, using social media or something else?

12 dealers? Those are rookie numbers. Gotta pump those up. I contacted 32 dealers just on the east coast between NY to NC (I’m in MD). Jumped on 4 waitlists after considering waitlist length and allocation flow of each dealer. Started the process in May, landed the allocation in Oct.

Bottom line, it’s a numbers game. Be relentless.

Also, there are plenty of buildable allocations floating around by brokers. I believe their fee is like $8-900. Might be reasonable if you don’t have much luck doing it the hard way.

Great feedback and context, thanks.

are they quoting you 9-12 months wait for the allocation or for delivery of the car? I would just select maybe 4-5 high volume dealers and put a deposit down for an allocation and just go with whichever dealer gets you your allocation first. You can also continue calling around as occasionally you'll luck out and find a dealer with no wait list or a very short one.

Personally I had a deposit down at 3 different dealers, and ended up getting an allocation 6 months later at one of them.

I found success in calling smaller dealers across the US to find an allocation. I kept a spreadsheet with everyone I called (probably over 50) dealers so I didn't call the same dealer twice. Try BUFU states where demand may be less.

They are saying 9-12 months before I take delivery of the car. Thanks for the input.

If you want a new Cinnabar Red 2023 Jahre M3, there is one at MSRP at Junge BMW. Talk to Jax.

I'm in the ATL area also, and I found an allocation in about a week in October for an individual G82 order. I had 2 different dealers call me on the same day with allocations. I actually found a customizable G80 allocation before my G82. The allocations are out there, especially in the Atlanta area. I can't imagine the wait is very long right now. If you want a G80, there one dealer in ATL that gets more allocations than the others.

I actually found a few G80 allocations before my G82. I just wanted a 2 door. Even my kids said I should get a 2 door.
