I wonder what being backed up means in terms of the process? Does the whole line shut down? Is there no more room at the port and other storage areas? I can't imagine they just stop building cars for days or from what it looks like now over a week? But all we can do is talk about the what if's since we can't get answers from anyone on what's really going on so I'm glad we have this thread to ponder the theories lol. In the end I'm trying to stay positive I'll have this bad boy by end of April/first of May time line.

So my theory is, someone started production on our cars and as the time went by that ship got stuck and I guess it became harder to make room for our cars. I bet someone out there is stuck in "exterior body assembly" or some other step as well. They may just keep the car in whatever state and then move them to a parking/storage area in the factory. And from what I know they give other cars priority over the M3. I feel like bmw knows we will wait for our cars as enthusiasts. I am at the 2nd weekend now with no movement, not sure what I will do Monday morning if it doesn't move. I have already waited 8 months not sure I can wait 9 or 10. Maybe it's time to stack my pennies and just buy a 911

I checked the Wallenius Wilhelmen shipping page and indeed it looks like there is a possible 2 week delay in there shipping due to the blockage of the Suez. This is most likely our dilemma. https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/...canal-blockage

None of the ships that have been reported to be used by others were Wallenius Wilhelmsen. I can't even find a line on the last ship out of port - Grand Hero.

NYK line covers southern and west coast shipments.

I'm on Grand Hero, due in Baltimore tomorrow. It's last updated location was just a little out of port. hasn't updated in several days for some reason. I hope it didn't hit an iceberg.

We are assuming there is a delay on other ships too since it's a global issue. That is the only logical explanation for why some cars are in the paint booth for 10 days or quality check or dispatched from factory.

My tracker says at the dealership but the dealership says its not there. I wonder if they just push the status in advance to make it seem like there doing everything on time?

Currently about 100 miles east of Norfolk, VA, on schedule for a late afternoon arrival to the port.

Next, we'll have to figure out truck/shipping to dealer tracking information.

It's a long trip without updates between Southampton and the Panama Canal. It does pass near enough to the Azores to get status, but then nothing until Haiti.

Cool. Thanks. Glad there were no icebergs involved.

My car is going to the PC, so just so long as it makes it there before my 5/12 PCD I'm good. I want to call the PC in a few weeks and see if someone will take some cell phone pics of it for me, but I know that's not a thing and they won't so I won't pester them. And I guess it ruins the Christmas morning surprise of picking my car up.

Any chance someone who has a vessel tracker subscription could give me any details on the Serius Highway. Suppose to get to port in GA by 4/16 but haven’t been able to follow it closely so thought I might ask.

Should be able to track it at https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais...SIRIUS_HIGHWAY

It's in Halifax, going to Baltimore next with an ETA of late in the evening of 04/14. 4/16 doesn't seem likely to me if there is a stop in Baltimore.

Day 13 of being stuck in "quality check" this is depressing . Anyone's car move today or are we all still stuck in the same phase?

My car's status changed today back to "At the port" when it has been "in transit" for the last couple of weeks. I haven't called the BMW Genius guys to check on if that's a bug or not yet but I was curious if anyone else had seen that happen? It was a bit concerning to see that given the situation with global shipping.

That's a new one, I'd get in touch with BMW Genius.

I emailed my salesman today and this is what he said.

"I just checked internally with BMW the car is currently in 190 Code. What that means is that the car has left the factory and is en-route to the port that will be exporting the car to us. It was put into 190 on the first of this month meaning that it will arrive at their port any day now."

I don't have much hope on this as it's been at this state for 12 days now and with everyone else not moving I guess once again there are no answers. I haven't seen other persons that have there cars or that are already on a boat have to wait this long to move to port. Maybe I should just stop looking for a few days and save myself the drama.

Count me in as being in the same spot. Left the factory 2 weeks ago and still not at the port.

My car sat in that state (dispatched from factory) for 4.5 weeks, after that time it switched over to at the port and then in transit in less than 24 hours.

That sounds like kind of a salesman hopeful type answer. But, theoretically, you would think it should be at the Port any day now.
