Advice - G80
So my CA thought he had a modifiable allocation for my build but it turns out it can no longer be modified. I took it anyways (deposit and got production number) but it doesn't include Parking Assistance package which I'm pretty bummed about cuz I really wanted the cameras. They won't have any more allocations for at least 3 months. Should I just keep it or let it go?

If that is the live tracking for that allocation, it can still be 100% modified as it is in Scheduled for Production status (112). If it is in Production Begins (150) then it is too late to modify it. I would double check with them, otherwise call Genius and they will have someone call your CA and instruct them how to modify.

If you're good with the rest of the build I think I would just take it. Yeah, do everything you can to see if you can change it, but take it. Just my opinion

When I was in 112 I couldn't change my order the 1-2 weeks leading up to production. I know a lot of people claim you can but I tried multiple times with no luck.
To the OP if the car is 100% not what you want or have options you would want I wouldn't do the order because you will always have that thought in the back of your mind of "what if" |

I had the same thoughts last week when I realized my G80 didn't have the Park Assistance Pkg - for me, it came down to weighing the value of the package vs. waiting for another 4-6 months (longer?). For me, it came down to the cameras being a "nice to have" vs. a show stopper since I rarely parallel park and I can't say I've ever used the self-park feature on my wife's XC90 over the past 5 years.
Ultimately, it's something you've gotta decide whether it's going to irk you every time you start the car and the cameras aren't there or if you can be happy with the significant expense knowing it's not EXACTLY how you wanted it. Good luck! |

112 should be modifiable unless you have an individual color or interior trim. as for parking assistance, it may further delay the delivery.

I have the parking package. First car I've had with that package. I pretty much only use it for the novelty of the remote 360 view using the phone app. Otherwise, for the modest cost, I'm glad I have it, but given the wait times these days, I wouldn't have passed up on a car that was otherwise exactly what I wanted, just to get the parking package.

Thanks for the responses. I'm fine with the build otherwise. I guess I will just keep it. No one around my area has any allocations. I'm scheduled for week 3.

Never had it on any of my other cars so it was not a option I ticked. that being said, do you live in a area with tight parking, parallel parking and park in garaged areas a lot. I just thought it was important to me and I used the money towards semi individual paint

That you're not scheduled for production for several weeks is further evidence that your car can be modified at this point. (i.e., you're in status 112, not 150.) Why not makes changes to suit your needs?

You will. Your car might sit for awhile either in QC or at the port, but you'll get it.

I would change to Cf trim... I got the aluminum and regretted it. For 950, it's a huge interior upgrade. I know some other forum member spent over 2k to do the conversion. Parking assistance is a no for me, the standard back up camera is good enough even at tight parking situations (was fine with it in LA) and going to korea with even tighter parking
