Chaps - I just watched a YT video by Mr JWW in which he’s about to paint his 911 San Marino. Interestingly, the paint guy was explaining that there are slightly different variations of SMB available. Paints evolve over time and it seems San Marino is no different.
Have any of you heard this before? |

Interesting. Does it mention somewhere that this is a different mix from the past?
The chap in the video (from Logic in the UK) shows there are actually 7 or 8 slightly different shades. In case anyone’s bored - scroll to approx 8 mins in the vid below. The vid is actually about the peelable paint they’ve just taken off James’ car. About to be re-done in San Marino. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Mvx6JeneuHU |

Ton of purple hues at night. Looks great on a M5 as well but I think marina bay blue fits the best on the bigger body.

Portimao Blue is different and less expensive. San Marino Blue is a BMW Individual color and much rarer. Both are very nice blues.

Check out this post for a side by side comparison between SMB and PB. Though the pics and lighting were not the best, this is a pretty good comparison.
While PB is very nice blue, it looks quite muted when it sits right next to SMB or Marina Bay. SMB is quite close to MBB with some hint of purple hue. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1584363 |
