PSI Mid pipe is fantastic.

After watching countless Youtube videos of the PSI, AA and Valvetronic mid pipes, I pulled the trigger on the PSI mid pipe. The staff, their shop and product was all top notch, and I feel that the system really wakes up the car in a good way. It is not too over-bearing, but definitely has a great tone, volume and presence when you are driving Anyways, I just wanted to speak on it if anyone was on the fence between those mid pipe options as well, it's awesome.

I agree. My only complaint is the cold start sounds so loud and “rattley” that I am embarrassed to start it in front of others sometimes.

All these mid pipes sound pretty similar if you hear them in person. I personally went with supersprint and it sounds amazing. Nice deep tone but if I didn’t go with them I would have went with either AA’s singe mid pipe or the PSI mid pipe. You cannot go wrong with any of these three options. I would be weary of valvetronic mainly due to the fitment issues

Welcome to the club. I did the same thing, 'til I finally pull the trigger on the PSI version.

For those complaining of the annoying sound during cold starts, press the accelerator delicately just a smidge to slightly move the RPMs and let go; you may have to do this a few times. This will reduce that noise most of the time.

Has anyone that has a aftermarket mid pipe installed and has gone to the dealership ever had any comments/problems from them?! I'm thinking in pulling the trigger on the psi mid pipe!

Just like others have commented in other posts, and helps to repeat it to drive the message home...

It depends on the type of relationship you have with your dealer and/or technical advisor. Mine, was willing to install my PSI for $300 and my Racechip for $400. Very mod friendly, but with the understanding that if they are asked to send information to BMW HQ for a warranty claim, there is very little they can do at that point.

A mid-pipe, IMO, should pose no liability on your car's warranty; assuming the installation was performed correctly.

Not unless you damage other car components, which is highly unlikely with this mod.

Don't hear none of this on our PSI installs.

the downpipes ruin the cold start, not the midpipe, as long as you keep stock downpipes, you wont have a problem

Are you guy sure its the mid pipe making the rattles? Ive had two G80's now and both of my stock ones made this almost gear cranking like rattle at cold start. It lasts like 1 second. I thought something was wrong with my first one. But my 2nd one makes the exact same noise. Its hard to describe. I cant figure out of its my starter, the mid pipe hitting the brace or my exhaust valves.

I'm quite sure it's NOT the midpipe. However, the midpipe makes the noise much louder. Also, I think it lasts longer depending on how long the cold start goes. Maybe depending on ambient temp? For me here in Colorado, it lasts longer than 1 second. Probably closer to 10.

Yes, I would agree. It does sound like something metal on metal. I only hear mine on startup though.

Interesting. I wonder what the heck it is. Mine happens the second the motor turns over right as it fires up and immediately disappears.

This this somewhat captures what Im talking about at the 7-8 second mark.
