3572 lbs if I did my math right... that's not really all that lightweight for 750k

750k is ridiculous

50 units is ridiculous

They finally make the car of my dreams, the car I've been asking for for 20 years, and they're only making 50 so it's unpurchasable. Make 2,000 of them and make it $130k, I'd have one.

I hate you, BMW.

M4 body kit for $760k lol. Just go get a Audi R8 GT for 1/3 of price and it'll at least be mid engined.

Finally a new design from BMW that doesn't look like shit and it runs for 750k. My OG M2 will be the last BMW I ever own. Fuck you BMW for patronizing your loyal base and abandoning us for Chinese buyers.

Yeah, no such thing. 50 already sold at $750k is more like it. And we didn't do anything to piss of the Germans. But they have no problem telling you "we don't like you," without tell you "we don't like you." Not like this candy ass country where pancake syrup is offensive.

And for the people that love the wheels, and another dig to not adding much new to the car. These wheels already exist. These are bronze colored BMW 963M wheels in the center lock version. If you want the same design, just buy yourself a set of 963M wheels. Readily available.
Despite mentioning the cost of your car every chance you can get, I appreciate your passion and helpful input on the G80, OEM parts, and detailing. I can do without your myopic opinions on rebranding decisions attempting to correct imagery deeply rooted in racial stereotypes from the days of slavery.
That was in no way my intention. Unfortunately, we both turned down the wrong road on that one, when I was merely pointing out the fact that Quaker didn't even consult the family before making a decision that they thought was the answer.

Instead, as the family suggested, they removed the history of those who helped shape the company into what it's become, today.

Back to our regularly scheduled program. BMW has the right to keep their legacy in their own country, without the fear of people being offended as to why the car didn't come to the US. The touring isn't coming here, either. Even though there are competitors already on the ground here. I was all over the RS6 Avant when it came here, until I found out it was over 4,900 pounds.

From a price MSRP perspective (no markup included), would you pay for a car that is 700k+ MSRP with basically a Turbo Inline 6 that is in a lot of BMW M cars? Or would you pay that price for a car that is going to be 700k (or less) with a Porsche GT engine (GT3 or currently bespoke 4.0L Flat Six in the 718s), Lambo V10/V12 or Ferrari engines?

The i3 and i8 also have a carbon fiber tub construction too fyi (to those of you have forgotten).

An engine makes a sports car. S58, while a very good engine, is not close in league to cars at that price point, not even close.
If I had FU-money, yeah sure. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t buy that Porsche/Lambo or whatever either.

I’ll put it this way: I remember reading that some rare US postage stamp sold for $10 million or so. That stamp isn’t getting stuck on a letter, and if it was it wouldn’t get to its destination any faster. That’s not what it’s about. Collectors often aren’t buying things for the same reasons ordinary consumers are.

Personally I like the design, but considering the 750k price (how can you not), I'm left wanting a lot more than what's shown.

I love the idea of this car. Looks better than most M cars of recent years. The 6 speed let's us know BMW can give us the high HP cars in manual transmission.

It's not worth 3/4 of a million, so it will only be purchased by 9 and 10 figure BMW faithful.

I'm glad BMW made it, and I hope they use some of the tech in this car in future models. A G80 LCI comp/CS with a 6 spd, and I would be sold. Not holding my breath for that, but one can hope.

I think the people who ordered that car already have a few million $ invested in cars and various toys. They are not exactly on any kind of budget.
More like a got to have it purchase regardless of price…

I actually think the opposite. This confirms BMW isn't full of it when they say the 6 spd as it is isn't meant to handle the higher hp/tq of the g8x comp models.

In this case you have a $760k which may not come with a warranty and only 50 are being made as an obvious collectors car. So sure, let's throw some extra hp at it since it probably won't be driven as much, but notice the torque figure is the same as the regular g8x 6mt.

In contrast, when you have mass produced g8x 6mt cars which have lengthy 4 yr/50k mile warranties that need to be honored, you ensure the power output to the 6mt is tweaked for longevity.

Now if bmw gave us a 700 hp and 650 lb/ft monster to their 6mt... then maybe we'd have a different story.

Vendor posts always say some generic 2 word "beautiful car," "well done," etc. However, if you could scratch at the words like a scratcher, it actually reveals "total flop," "I have to drive that thing and pretend it's cool?"

Well you were on point about one thing. We have become a candy ass country driven by a few "woke" candy ass people. For those that disagree flame away. This is a public forum and that's my public opinion. As for the car it is amazing BMW even built it. Not much to dislike there. But damn… that price.
