Exactly !
After all the hype, if this is the best BMW can do they should have shopped it out to a bespoke manufacturer (like they do with their race cars) to produce something worthy of the 50 years, not just another M4 parts bin special.

Oh of course it will go to collectors with that type of income. Iam at a loss as of why it's priced that high. If they made 5 , 50, 500 , it's on the g platform (correct me if iam wrong) they didn't have to build it from scratch. I would have guessed a 250 k price point from what I saw in those pics.

I can't believe the American fanboys on this site that eat up & regurgitate whatever crap BMW marketing are feeding them.
It's still basically an M4, yes they've had to lay up some carbon panels in a mould to tack on & spray paint it by hand, the rest is just bolt ons from the parts bin, which is fine as that's how some great cars are built by many manufacturers, but that certainly doesn't make a BMW M4 a 750k car no matter whether they build 1 or 1000.
I don't dislike the car but I can see it for exactly what it is - a tarted up manual M4 CSL.

Probably the best looking car in BMW's lineup right now. Would be great in a consumer version without the racing trim/spoilers and more conservative flares.

It’s about volume. 50 units almost hand built/massaged is a tremendous cost in fully burdened labor alone.
Each piece of hand laid carbon needs jigs, tooling, equipment… each modified part needs a mold configuration change, quality control process, quality control tooling, etc.

There are some common parts shared but there are also quite a few unique and reconfigured parts as well. Injection molding tooling for just 50 cars (plus spare parts) will run into the hundreds of thousands. Suppliers will charge more for each piece price because of low volume etc etc.

Don’t forget to add some $ in for profit.

But they are pouring money and resources into areas where no one is asking for, or bmw enthusiasts dont care for

I would rather have a 800+ hp, below 1300 kg supercar if you are asking me to pay 750k-1million $, functional carbon tub , not some g82 upgrade! Who cares about hand painting the car??!?!
