Got an RS5 Sportback - I'll have to wait for the LCI :(

After a crash that took out what would have been our cheap second car (don't worry no injuries and walked away fine), I unfortunately couldn't wait for the M3 and needed a car that met the same requirements immediately. I looked at a car for my wife and the M3 for me, but we don't even need 2 cars. Hopefully I'll be back in a few years in an LCI Xdrive Frozen Grey M3, for now at least I get to enjoy an even bigger grille. I'll still be around of course

2021 fully loaded RS5 sportback. It's great, and I love it, but it's no M3.

PM if you're curious. I don't want this to be a thread that takes people away from the M3/4 - I would have bought one instead if BMW would have launched the xdrive at the same time as the rwd.

Your health and overall well being are much more important. You'll have another opportunity to get the BMW down the road if you want. Glad to hear you weren't injured!

Funny thing, as my car prior to getting my G80 was a 2018 Audi S5 sport back as well (the RS5 version wasn't available at the time)!

Glad you're okay and congrats on the RS5! I looked at those 2 years ago when I was ready to upgrade but decided to wait for the G80 M xDrive. I loved the car inside out but I expected a more thrilling experience. I'm also a BMW fanboy so I never pulled the trigger.

Ha yeah, I am a fan!

Thanks all. Excited for the xdrive for you all, I think it's going to be phenomenal from standstill to 60. Looking forward to the mods and remap power outputs

No kidding. The G8x gets a lot of flack for it's grilles but Audi has managed to turn the entire front end into a grille and escape the same criticism. Congrats to OP as the RS5 Sportback may not be an M3 but it's still a very nice car.

I drove both and preferred the rs5 tbh. I think you made a good choice.

sry to hear but glad everything is ok where it actually matters. I just came out of a '18 S4 .. amongst the things I miss from that car: B&O stereo, massaging seats, general material quality, and the fun burble tune to the exhaust!

RS5 is literally my old car on steroids! You will get some good use out of it I'm sure.

Funnily enough my favorite features so far are the B&O and the massaging seats - I can't drive it hard yet so not gotten to familiar with the car on that regard but it's a beast when I've pushed it half way.

I do think the G8X interior is a step above it now though, but it's only something I'll notice if I was to move between the cars.

Thanks all!

I got my RS5 a year ago and am actually selling it to a local dealership this weekend for a lot more than my current buyout. I have to tell you it was probably the most enjoyable car I've ever had.

If my allocation for my G80 6MT fell through For pickup in late March, I would've picked up a RS5 Sportback no doubt. Such a well refined car.

And yes, I miss the massaging seats and B&O system from my old car as well haha
