Brand of Tires Upon Delivery?

Hello all,

As the title suggests, just wanted to get a general idea of what brand of tires are being equipped on your G80 and G82s upon delivery?

Seen a few videos and noticed the brand of tires has varied quite a bit. Noticed Michelin and Pirelli so far. Wonder if it's state, country, or region specific?

Thanks in advance for your input!

It’s likely that the usual lottery continues, nothing that kills the delivery experience as seeing a set of non Michelins on the car.

19/20 are on either Michelin PS4S or Pirelli P Zero.
The only car pictured up to now with 18/19 was on Continental . There is probably also a second manufactuer approved (Michelin ?) for 18/19 eventhough volume should be low.

The BMW video on tires showed 4 manufacturers (Michelin, Pirelli, Continental, Yokohama) as supplying OE spec tires for the G8X.

For the three I've seen, an M4 and an M3 both had the Pirelli tires, while the other M3 had Michelin PS4S tires. The biggest thing that stood out about the Michelin tire'd car are the carbon bucket seats.

I wonder if that's a coincidence or on purpose.

I lost the tire lottery and got Pirelli P-Zero's. Not that they seem to be a problem, but I would have been happier with PS4S's.

I'll run through them, or at least use most of what they have to give. I enjoy making comparisons for myself, so running them a good way and then switching to PS4S's, a tire I've already experienced, will be useful data.

In Melbourne, Australia so far I've noticed that the M3s have Pirelli's and the M4s Michelin's. Not sure if there is a pattern. Will know once I've seen a few more.

Brisbane, Australia M3 & M4 are both Pirelli's.
Heard a rumour that press cars have Michelins whereas the customer delivered ones are Pirellis.

Me too. I got my G80 with Pirelli P-Zero's. I checked the prices and they are much cheaper than Michelin tires

BMW pays nowhere near what you and I pay for tires. I'm sure the michelin's are still more expensive to them but it could also be a supply chain issue.

From the pics taken by my SA, sadly my G82 comp (feb prod) came on p zero's as well... they were also quite firm about not swapping tires with another car.

I will try to ask them again before delivery

BMW NA doesn't give the option to pick the tires. They probably do this purposely. Doesn't seem negotiable.

I walked around a porsche dealership today for the first time and it was 50/50 for PS4S/P Zeros on all their exoctics (GT3, 911 Turbos ect). Kinda made me feel better.

Otherwise i'm hopin to get the PS4S too, but will accept the P zeros

Hmm. The M4s are Michelin, saw and confirmed with my local dealer today. M3s come with Pirelli for cost cutting is what my dealer mentioned. But you can ask for Michelin's and it can be added from factory.

It's not an inferior Tyre I think. VW group have used the P Zero on Audis and Porsche for a while now. But, if I am not wrong, the Michelin Pilot sport 4s were specially designed for the F8x / BMW so def better IMO
