Previous gen looked like well tailored suit, this one looks like a party costume. Nobody will mistake M3 anymore as a regular 3 series. BMW knows what they're doing (trolling) I guess there is no such thing as bad publicity.

For some reason I like it, sort of look like like cartoonish, don't take life too seriously kind of vibe. M3 would look great in yellow. Finally, they'll offer some decent colors instead of 50 shades of usual grey

It appears that the darker the color the better the front valance looks. Isle of Man Green looks really good and the grille is almost an afterthought since the eye drinks in the color.

But in São Paulo Yellow that M4 looks like some busted bullshit.

Fast forward a year or so and all the haters will eventually come around and suddenly think the F8x looks dated in comparison. Once all the positive reviews and tests start pouring in you will already see people changing their tune.

Something is up with these photos. Maybe this car is just very unphotogenic but based on what I'm seeing here I can't imagine spending my money on this. This is coming from someone who was very pro new grille. Something'a off. Trying hard to reserve judgment until videos/official photos/seen in person

The car looks cheap. Also look like they are floating because of the black bottom trims. Should have made them add ons instead... oh well this generation is got to be the worse generation from bmw (exterior wise).

Because this generation the wheel specs are 19” front 20” rear. The 19” wheels don’t fill the wheel wells like the F8x generation 20” all around.

Emerald Green Metallic is nice...but that is where is ends.

Focus people....look at the hood scoops coming off the fugly kidney grills. The M3/M4 hump in the hood is gone!!! Aren't you happy to see me anymore?

If you look at the smoke teaser pix...the kidney grills are completely flat like a pig nose. Oink Oink. Then the oversized grills flow back into the hood...and the BMW roundel is in the, well, deep in the cleavage. What is this a Z28 Camaro from the 1970s?

I feel bad for the designer that had to sculpt the lines in the front end in clay. CAD be damned. Even a super-wide EU license plate can't hide those hideous kidney grills. Imagine a US plate in NY State Orange/Blue. I guess you could spray paint your front plate matte black.


That Tail/Trunk barely has the CSL curve.

Where is the intercooler?

BTW M3/M4 AWD will have to wait til June 2021. No DCT for now.

lol, just did a reveal for my wife and her first words were its a lexus.. the picture of the IOM m3 tho I have to say looks pretty good, I'd have to see it in person... can the performance and technology offset the front of the car for most is going to be the question.

These are just not very good looking cars. This might be the first time in the history this brand where the non-M is actually the better looking variant.

The grille upsets me quite a bit. I always thought it looked “tacked on” due to the poor integration on the front fascia, however, my hate for it has calmed over time. I still think it’s as ugly as it was on day one, but I’m not taken back by it anymore. What’s worse, though, is how unintentional and busy the side profile is. It looks chunky and disproportionate to the rest of the car. The window line is just plain weird.

And those wheels. A big WTF. It almost feels like corporate sabotage at this point.
