Installed this today. Everything works, including the heater 😀. This is the fully loaded version and only took about 3 weeks from ordering to having it installed by me. They had an extra one that’s why it only took 3 week. It was going to take longer if I had it shipped to APO/USA. So I just had it sent to Germany instead.

Yes. I have a little video clip I made while on the autobahn and I’ll post it later. I went with AZA because of the review.

Nice! Did they provide an emulator to make it work? So the car thinks you have your hands on the wheel the whole time?

No emulator. It just came with an OBD2 dongle for the vehicle stat in the steering display. I paid $3,000 for it, other companies I talked to couldn’t do the heater and other factory options.

I didn't realize how nice the OEM wheel was until I saw the comparison.

Indeed but I just wanted to waste my money on something useless. Nothing beats OEM. There’s marginal gaps on the carbon pieces due to not having leathers like the OEM.

So, I lied. It doesn’t work 😂. I don’t actually use it, just the distance control. I’m going to ask AZA why.

Let us know if you get it figured out. I'm guessing there is an emulator that you have to activate/code somehow. There's another post about it somewhere on here. I don't know how else they would bypass the oem system since it's capacitive (touch).

I contacted AZA about it and they said they’re going to look into it. I’m about to put the stock back on to see if any of the electronics was messed up on my end. If not, I’m still going to put it back.

How easy is the swap? I've done it on an F80 before, but haven't looked at how it's done on the G80 yet. Do you still just release the airbag with a screwdriver through the access holes and pop the airbag out?

Where did you get what's hanging from your rear view?

I sent the steering wheel back to AZA in Poland. Just waiting on their end.

Steering wheel hand sensor will not work thru carbon fiber.

The grip portion is alcantara. I’ll wait what they say, supposedly they’ve done it and couple guys have swear it worked.

Fwiw - it never worked on mine. First, they told me they would replace my wheel and were building me a new one. A few months later, they said that they knew how to fix it, (solder a resistor in to the sensor wire) but required that I send them the wheel back.

I didn't feel like dealing with that - disassembling this wheel is not only a pain, it's also fraught with some risk, as more than a few people have borked their wheels in the process. Didn't feel like doing the whole process over again.

Anyway, I bought an emulator, and it works perfectly. Bit upsetting that a $3k wheel doesn't work properly, but I do love it regardless.

The sensor goes around the rim under the leather - it can't go on CF.

This wheel looks so fuggin good. How is it driving with your hand on the CF portions? Do your hands tend to get a little slippery/sweaty since it's a solid surface and not a type of fabric/leather?
