Installed this today. Everything works, including the heater 😀. This is the fully loaded version and only took about 3 weeks from ordering to having it installed by me. They had an extra one that’s why it only took 3 week. It was going to take longer if I had it shipped to APO/USA. So I just had it sent to Germany instead.

I didn't realize how nice the OEM wheel was until I saw the comparison.

So, I lied. It doesn’t work 😂. I don’t actually use it, just the distance control. I’m going to ask AZA why.

Let us know if you get it figured out. I'm guessing there is an emulator that you have to activate/code somehow. There's another post about it somewhere on here. I don't know how else they would bypass the oem system since it's capacitive (touch).

I contacted AZA about it and they said they’re going to look into it. I’m about to put the stock back on to see if any of the electronics was messed up on my end. If not, I’m still going to put it back.

How easy is the swap? I've done it on an F80 before, but haven't looked at how it's done on the G80 yet. Do you still just release the airbag with a screwdriver through the access holes and pop the airbag out?

I love ny AZA wheel too. had them make one that looks identical to the M Performance wheel and keep Driver Asssit and Heated functionality. All works perfectly.

Fwiw - it never worked on mine. First, they told me they would replace my wheel and were building me a new one. A few months later, they said that they knew how to fix it, (solder a resistor in to the sensor wire) but required that I send them the wheel back. I didn't feel like dealing with that - disassembling this wheel is not only a pain, it's also fraught with some risk, as more than a few people have borked their wheels in the process. Didn't feel like doing the whole process over again. Anyway, I bought an emulator, and it works perfectly. Bit upsetting that a $3k wheel doesn't work properly, but I do love it regardless. |
