Most likely. If it was easy, H&R would've already offered it.

Do you know anyone who has gotten these for their xDrive cars? And what they thought of the difference it made (if any)?

Swaybars are very little help, if any. Much more bang for the buck going with a quality/properly dialed-in set of coilovers over swaybars.

That's what I was kinda worried about. I already have the M Performance Suspension opted on my car. So while I'm sure coilovers would be even better, I don't think the difference over those would be as much as if I just had the normal suspension. Plus the fact I paid for the option makes it harder to swallow changing it lol

You think maybe sway bar end links would be worth it? They don't seem as pricey. Then of course there's the monoball, other bushings, training arms, toe arms, etc

Adjustable End links aren't really a performance upgrade, but more of a necessity when running lowered setups or adjustable sways. Other adjustable arms are only beneficial for track use or weekend warriors that are properly dialed in. Also take in the fact if you won the tire lottery and got the Michelins over the Contis.

The Millway Street Front Tension Strut/Thrust Arm Bushing Set would make the most dramatic difference and really tighten up that steering feel. We always have them in stock.

Good to know. I always heard that stronger rear tension/trailing arms, and toe arms helped with wheel hop a lot on launches. At least on Hellcats (which is what I'm coming from).

Though I suppose being that mine is an xDrive, I can see it being less beneficial due to less stress/power in the rears during launch. I was looking at the Fall Line ones do you not think they're worth it?

As to the monoball, that's definitely top of my list when I start working on the suspension.

The Thrust Arm Bushings should be among the first on anyone's list. While the G8X is pretty good out of the box, it's one of the few areas that can really be improved upon.

Fall-Lines may easier to get, but we prefer the Millways (which we import from Sweden). Millway is a very well engineered piece with no added NVH and features sealed uniballs/dust boots, making them essentially maintenance free.

Definitely. I was 100% gonna go with millway for the monoball. Fall-Line would have been for those trailing arms.

Pairing the millway with the CS tuning for the suspension, steering and TCS, I think it'll really bring out the handling/steering of the car to another level!

Look into the SPL lineup on our site, I think you'll be pleased.

Personally, I think the money is better spent towards a set of Ohlins R&T or at least KW V3 coilover if this is a street vehicle.

I think so. I’ve done pretty much everything you can do to improve the suspension, like MCS 3 way and full kinematics but no sway bars. The car has a hard time transitioning, and sway bars along with a wider track would help this, I think.

I ordered a set of eibach sway bars through r44 and unfortunately it turned out they weren’t in stock, and kept telling me it would be next week, and so on. After a few weeks of this and being told it would be another 2 weeks I cancelled my order. I am baffled by the lack of aftermarket sway bars for a car that’s been out for 2+ years. Meanwhile, you could replace virtually every panel of the car in carbon fiber, and decorate your interior with the same. But no sway bars. And I don’t know of a single person who’s succesfully bought and *recieved* a pair. The other option is the m4 gt4 bars but those will cost you close to 4k. I’m hoping someone will read this and tell me I’ve just missed some, somewhere. I’m curious if Eibach pair through Autoid are in stock, ready to ship, and thicker than stock g80 bars

Got the Eibach Sway Bars from Germany today. They’re a non starter for g80 m3. The front is 3mm smaller than stock. And the rear is just too hard to tell without putting it on a lift. I called Eibach USA and they were nice enough to go onto the Eibach Germany site and figure out that they’re not really for our cars but in certain places you’ll see that they fit “g80, g20, gxx” and so on. Eibach USA said they don’t have any intention, thus far, of making any bars for our cars. No customer demand.

I find it a little frustrating that the three different distributors in Europe that I talked to said they would fit our cars (I’m not confident they will) and that they are meant for our cars. And when you search some of their websites for parts for our exact platform the bars in question pop up like they’re some kind of performance mod.

Thanks for seeing what the Eibach bars are about and reporting back. I'm still thinking of trying an M4CSL bar on my base M3, maybe next year for track season.

No prob. Can I ask where you’re planning on buying the CSL bars? I’ve not seen them on third party sites so I’m guessing dealer. Do you by chance know the part number?

Probably the dealer yeah. I think the part number is 31358091420 for the M4 CSL front bar.

Thanks man. I’ll be checking it out and will report back if I can get it and get it installed.

Apparently the m4 gt4 sway bars won’t even fit our cars because the suspension is so different. I’m going to go to the bmw parts counter to see what they can find on the Csl bar.

Do you know if the CSL bars are stiffer or not? The CSL is a lighter car with higher spring rates, it is possible the sway bar maybe actually softer

That’s a good question. It is lighter but even with a little weight taken out of it, it’s hard to imagine that they’re able to significantly improve the car’s ability to transition without stronger/thicker or solid bars. But before I bought them I’d want to be sure that they were in fact an upgrade. Especially given that they’re probably expensive and likely not returnable.
