Hey folks,
A few months ago my individual F80 was totaled by a driver rear ending me at a stoplight. After a few months of waiting I got an allocation for week 47 build on a new Tanzanite Comp RWD. Currently in status 112. Looking forward to following along with other week 47 folks! Build: Tanzanite Blue Tartufo 825m silver (hardest choice, not a huge fan of any of the options truthfully) Carbon Fiber Trim Exec Package Parking Assist Drive Recorder M Drive Professional Shadowline Lights Red calipers Debated doing another individual color (twilight purple or a metallic green possibly) but the extra wait is a killer without a car currently. |

Figured I'd start a progress log. Will update as we move through the process.

If production runs 100% on schedule, our cars will be completed around 11/23, then it’ll take at least a week for them to get to port, and who knows how long to get on a ship. Then a month at sea, the VPC, then transport to dealer. At best, all that is weeks, which would be early January, but there’s no solid chance that best case scenario happens. |

Also, week 47 is the week beginning November 17, and your first step is production complete in 11/18? No chance. Even your “worst case” is most likely off by a week or two.

I doubt your’s will be December too. Best to prepare for later like February and be happily surprised if you see it in January. I’m week 43 and it’s still at Bremerhaven waiting for a ride to the west coast, hoping to get on a ship Nov 9th.

I don't see a reason not to be optimistic nowadays. People are getting bumped up to earlier weeks and there's no backfill or delays at the moment. It's not like the last few years, or even earlier this year. I'm not gonna price in being the outlier who gets stuck in QC for 2-4 weeks, or sits at the port for 2-6 weeks. I'm assuming the general / middle point case. ***BTW - there are multiple Week 43 guys who are already on a boat to Baltimore. That means they will be taking delivery in the next 14-21 days, assuming their dealership is on the east coast. Boat takes 12-13 days to get to Baltimore. 1-3 days of processing max. Then just on a truck to dealership. I'm a month behind them. So if they're late Nov, I can reasonably infer I'm late December, early Jan. Last edited by champagnepak1; 11-01-2024 at 01:45 PM.. |

VPC/Transport to dealer is a 24-72 hours process for me, as I'm local to the port. I'm not trying to be contentious or anything, I get why people set low expectations - for a pleasant surprise. I usually am the same. |

FWIW my dealer estimated potentially late December arrival but to plan for early-ish January so as to not be disappointed. I am on the east coast.
