Another 80 miles in the books lol. Basically no one on the road. Was raining pretty good but still a pleasant drive. Reminded me of last spring when covid was new. It was a ghost state. I loved it! lol

Almost time for that break in service! I can't fucking wait!

Merry christmas everyone!

Another 80 damn miles in the books. Getting closer to that break in. I hope the day i need to take it to the dealer isn't the day we get our first big snowstorm lol. That's the part that's making me worry.

Make sure the service center has the fluids you need for the break in. There's been a shortage of them too. I'd call ahead and confirm before anything else.

Fuck, i forgot about that.

What premature mileage do most dealers accept for the break in?

Like can i call them up if i approach 1100 instead of near 1200?

I'm around 930 miles IIRC.

Differential fluid in September remained back-ordered till late November (just before Thanksgiving); then there was ample stock everywhere. Should be okay now, unless there's been a run on it this month.

Yes, you can schedule the 1,200-mile service at 1,100 miles (or even a bit less).

Intake

Installed bms elite cold air intake. This may be all in my head, but the car feels crazy peppy after the install. Simply unreal coming off the on ramp!

You can do it around 1,000 miles. But being in the tri-state area means you have a lot of dealerships you can call if your local/preferred one doesn't have it. The shortage may have passed by now, but you'll never know - if you go to the maintenance subforums you'll see a lot of frustrated owners that had bad luck specifically with the differential fluid. Better safe than sorry, I can't imagine having to wait 1200 agonising miles only to be told that you'll have to wait to floor it. Report back if anything!

Called for an appointment. Soonest time is end of Jan which fucking blows. That means I’ll have to do a lot of short cruises from now til then. I just hope I don’t go past 1200 miles but worse is I hope there’s no 12 inches of snow on the ground at that time.

You're ok, as long as you keep it under 1500, but I wouldn't worry too much.

What are you replacing it with? Only other car I would want instead is a 997 GT3, but I don't feel like spending the money on one at these prices.

I mean I don’t mind doing it myself even if I have to buy the material. But I know it has to go to the dealer so it gets recorded that it’s done.
