So I've yet to take delivery of my g80cx, which is stuck at the Bremerhaven port for about 4.5 weeks now. But with an estimated delivery of mid-January and the launch of the CS expected to be a month or two after that it has me thinking. Would it be too much of a rush to take delivery of my 2023 and wait for about 7-8months before a CS arrives and trade up? Or is that not crazy? Just trying to rationalize, it's just kind of upsetting I'll be getting my car, and about a month after the better version will be coming out. But from what I've seen it takes about a year from launch to consistent deliveries for these cars, or at least with the CSL.
Or, from what the news on the forums looks like is that there will be another special edition in 2024-25 that may be even better, but I hope it's not like a Jahre and more so like a proper CS. Is there anything that suggests that the special model will be more than carbon and badges? My local dealer got to m5cs, 1 csl, and 2 Jahre allocations, all of which they marked up, but I'm supposedly on the list for the m3cs and don't plan to pay any markup as I didn't with my incoming g80. But hey maybe ai can rationalize me away if they do mark it up? I don't know as I am just drooling over the idea of a signal green g80 m3cs with buckets as I didn't option them on my incoming car both would def be a must for a CS And a brief reminder I am fully aware these are extreme first-world issues and that's why I'm coming to like-minded individuals that all have the same passion. Would love to hear all of your KIND opinions And to summarize this to make sure it doesn’t come off wrong is… will the CS be enough car to want to replace a “regular comp xdrive” and from what the CSL reviews have shown it is, +xdrive it’ll be one hell of a car. |

Kinda need the car as it’s supposed to be my DD. Just trying to see if only keeping the car for a few months is worth it and to wait for a CS or be more practical and wait till the 2025 “specail model” comes

Is there concrete info on what the CS will have (other than awd and 54x hp)?
I don’t think it’ll be enough to warrant trading up personally. If you were going to order one today, sure grab a CS, but if you have one inbound, I doubt it’s really that different.

Thank you, kind of the feedback I was looking for… if it’s a difference like m4 to m4csl than it may be but also not looking so spend over 130k on a 3 series regardless of edition because at that point used m5 cvs prices will be around their. Point is theirs always a better car and a endless ladder, just trying to see if the cs is worth the step up but given my circumstances it seems better to keep my incoming one for time before deciding

If you are looking for opinions, here's one. I think you should take delivery of the cx that's coming right around the corner and enjoy it. Unless you are going to live at the track, I definitely don't think it's worth upgrading.

take the CX, order the CS. you don't know how long it will take to come in or what else may happen in life that can otherwise prevent you from getting either one of them. Never pass.

kind of the response I was looking for... these cars are reaching m5c and m5cs territory in pricing and then we look back and realize the starting price is 80k, its an endless latter. And given that ill just have to wait and see if the CS is that great of a car to spend an extra 25k which is highly unlikcley if i tastefully mod the first one. |

Edit: I think I’m already horrified at how much money I’ve spent on cars, but the advice above would have led to me being even more horrified. 😬 Last edited by MichaelB1969; 12-12-2022 at 11:32 AM.. |

Joking about this by the way. If you're willing to spend the 130-140K that the M3 CS will most likely be, what's 10K or so lost when you unload your M3cx? Take delivery of your incoming M3cx (it's a beast) and keep your spot in line. You can always change your mind (usually) later without losing your deposit.
