Allocation update - February

For me currently I'm #1 on my dealers waitlist. Just checked with my CA this morning that they haven't received any allocations yet. Is this true? Did anyone hear back from your CA with allocations update?

Will be interesting to see if there are any MY23 M4 allocations left or if we see MY24 in the next batch.

This is my 2nd month being #1, haven't heard yet. Hopefully by Friday I'll know something.

You should call around to see if any dealers have open allocations for MY23 g82, but I heard Feb allocations for March production will for MY24.

This matches my understanding as well. G82/G83 production ends for MY23 in February, and these allocations have already been distributed.

MY24 (with all the changes the G80 got last July) starts production in March, and those allocations should be released in the next week or so.

This is cool with me since at this point I think I'm ready to embrace ID8.

I’m #2 on the list at my local dealer. Been on the waitlist since August. They’ve been getting about 1 a month for the past few months. Hoping they get two this cycle so I can get that wait over with and move on to the next wait. My CA said they haven’t gotten allocations yet so hopefully they haven’t dropped. Hopefully calbears will provide an update on allocations. He’s always a reliable source on here.

I’ve been #1 on the list for an M3Cx at my dealer since November. They claim they haven’t received a single M3 allocation since then. I plan on doing my monthly check-in tomorrow. Fingers crossed that this is the month…

I found out that dealers get separate M3 and M3C/M3Cx allocations. My dealer has been alternating every month between an M3 and M3C/M3Cx allocation. That explained when I was 3rd on the list, it’s taken way more than 3 months to move up to next in line. I’m just hoping with the recently announced M3 CS, it doesn’t take away from the M3Cx allocations that should be going out the week.

Any M3 allocation can be configured as base, comp rwd or comp xdrive. But some dealers maintain separate waitlist for each variant due to their internal policy.

Well that is frustrating, but also gives me hope that I truly am next on the list since they told me they had no M3C allocations last month.

I really dont understand why they do that other than maybe this way figuring out how much profit are they getting depending on the build

It's not just for the M3/M4. Just about any vehicle can be flipped between RWD/AWD. There are other models like the M8 that can be flipped between coupe/convertible/gran coupe.

A few years ago, the M5 was allocated as either comp or non-comp and you couldn't flip them.

Yup.

I had a 111 status allocation at a local dealer for a MY23, but was told this morning that it was officially flipped to a MY24 and that they can't request builds for MY23's anymore.

I'm good waiting until next March at this point to see what a potential LCI will bring to the M4 so I cancelled my order.

I agree. It would be much easier to maintain one waitlist for a vehicle line, but dealers are independent entities and they can do whatever they want.

Have to admit, waiting to see the March 2024 LCI has crossed my mind. But man that still feels like a long time to wait at this point, for what will likely be minor changes. I guess it depends on how much longer I have to wait for an allocation. Six months from now... yeah, I'd probably just wait for the LCI.

I wonder if we'll get some LCI details leaked at some point this year.
