Like the disclaimer that everyone in the film has been tested for COVID-19. Now the drop is taking a page from the luxury fashion houses marketing, such as Louis Vuitton, when a new collection is "dropped". So much cross marketing by BMW these days.

the real thing that was worth revealing is not the ugly rim but the M3 touring (partially) visible IMHO

At least they included the greats. Can't fault them. But the shear amount of oil leaks on that street. Yikes.

This looks like it was fun to shoot. I enjoyed the Easter eggs throughout the video.

I recommend to look at Markus Flasch' newspaper closely.

hint: 50 years of something.

Seems like their planning something big.

I pieced together the newspaper sections and it seems to reference '50 JAHRE BMW M', the 50th Anniversary of BMW M GmbH, with the headline "BMW M birthday preparations in full swing."

2022 would be the 50th anniversary of BMW M (founded in 1972), which is in a little more than a year's time now that 2021 is approaching.

I wasn't able to find any other further easter eggs but it'll be interesting to see how BMW M celebrates its Golden Jubilee.

BMW M's 40th Anniversary ('40 Jahre BMW M') in 2012 was marked with some special events such as a Nürburgring driving event and some promotional media campaigns, but other than that nothing. No special models or supercar like some wishful thinkers might have hoped (in fact, the first turbocharged Ms were launched about a year earlier and natural aspiration would be dead the next year) , but 2012 did mark BMW's first DTM victory in 20 years since the E30 M3.

Well. I will gladly interrupt you here.

Markus has been interviewed by a famous german car-tuber a few weeks ago. And he announced a car, that will have no stock bmw model. Instead, it will be a pure M car. He also pointed out, that it has no predecessor.

If someones cares, I can post a link to that interview. But be advised, its in german. For a few cold ones I'd be willing to fully translate it.

I mentioned that it didn't happen for the 40th anniversary and there's no indication that it'll happen for the 50th anniversary.

Of course, we as BMW fans all wish for it, and I hope I'm wrong here, but I really wouldn't hold my breath.
There have been talks and rumors about a BMW supercar for decades now and, like the boy who cried wolf, people will only be inclined to believe it if and when it finally happens.

At best, we might get something like a follow-up to the i8, or a more performance oriented concept of such (i.e., BMW Vision M Next). But that's more of a hybrid sportscar (and that's putting it very flatteringly).
But a true supercar like the AMG Project One from BMW M? Forget it.

Are you referring to this? (Please post your link if someone else.)
