Dude the pics on your IG account are sick! Now following you. I first wanted FDG but they discontinued it for MY2023 (mind boggling!) so I went to BG, then DG, and now leaning towards SG. Decisions!!

I went through the same ordeal while I was waiting for my allocation!



I finally settled for Skyscraper with the reasoning of BG is too common, and Dravit grey is $1,950 and can add up to 10 weeks to your build.

According to the vizualizer DG is not an individual colour. Maybe that is new for 2023. My hesitation with DG is that the contrast with the CF trim is not as sharp.

According to the BMW build site, here is what it states for Dravit Grey....



"BMW Individual paint requires special consideration. Vehicle production could extend build time up to 10 weeks from date dealer confirms the order. Please discuss this customized vehicle with preferred BMW dealer."

And I agree with you about the carbon fiber contrast being better with Skyscraper.

Yeah I saw that on the US site. Doesn't have it on the Canada site, and my dealer told me it's not individual. Who knows! If I end up choosing DG, I am willing to wait. I'll keep this car for a few years so I have to LOVE it.

That is awesome, thank you! Anything I can do to make my car look less-BMW is a win for me. Along with the fake exhaust sound and poor audio system, the fact that it is a "BMW" has always been my biggest hesitation. I am not a BMW guy at all, I just happen to love the car.

(not a dis to BG owners, but this is the process I went through in color selection.... )
I had selected SSG originally for a classy understated look, that would highlight the lines of the car well. After some thought- thinking, this is a bold car -- perhaps I need a bold color? Flirted with blue and even red, but ultimately decided to get a neutral low-key color to complement the CCB's gold calipers and carbon exterior.
...but then reconsidered BG because I have a Steel Grey E46 (didn't necessarily want to duplicate) and a '22 Pilot in a very sporty Sonic Gray (love this color) with black 20" rims; my wife's primary vehicle.
So when opportunity came along, I checked out a BG M4 on the lot in the rain... I liked it. Was subtle.
I changed to BG on the build sheet, waiting for the allocation...
Not having seen it in bright sun, however, my Client Advisor (female, have known her for a while - impeccable taste) she cautioned about BG.... she said she didn't think it suited the car. She said -- knowing me, how I hang onto my cars for a long time... She gently advised me that BG is too "baby blue" - in her eyes.
She noticed my wife's Honda, and she said that was the color they should have nailed. "they missed the mark" and she thought SSG better suited the car. Wow - I was stunned. I honestly was reluctant to change it back to SSG.
So I looked at more and more photos. Then noticed something, that really made me change my mind...
I started to notice many BMWs in BG around town, in the bright sun, and did see that the car's lines were not so clear. Be it an X or a 2 series or an M4.
The photos (great photos) here ultimately swayed me back to SSG, and it is different enough from my E46.
My E46 has always been a good looking "complementary to the lines of the car" color - it still looks great. So I said what the hell, I'll stick with a metallic gray theme.
Apparently SSG is not that common. I **almost** went with a 50 Jahre edition M3, in Lime Rock Grey, because hopes for a standard allocation were dim in June. But that was the only color I could have accepted in that palette list of colors. It too blurs the sharp lines of the car to a degree, but a rare color.
Anyways, I look forward to SSG.... I think it will stand the test of time

BG was actually my initial color choice for my pending M3 because it was the closest color to Audi's Nardo grey I could get in a non-individual BMW color. But after seeing BG in the sun and how it starts to look baby blue and washed out, my favorite color then became Dravit Grey. Then after seeing DG in person in the sun, I was turned off by the amount of gold flake it had (I HATE gold). At this point I then made the switch to Skyscraper and never looked back.

just wanted to share a few pic of my SG beauty .
I live in germany and over here the colour is very rare too.

I just installed the BMW Performance Lip and the Carbon Diffusor
The car is also lowered at the front only with Eibach springs and has 12mm H&R Spacers all around

Will mount the CSL rims next week + the ducktail carbon wing

I will share the updates if you wanna see them
