What your coolant temp does when you floor it ?

Hi, I have 23 m3cx. Did you noticed that when you press accelerator pedal 100% the coolant temp drops from 210f to ~ 150f? Probably electrical waterpump does the job to cool it more. Anyways, my friend who has the same car maybe 4 months newer, says that when he floors the car, hes coolant temp even raises a little bit from 210f, doesnt go down like mines. Which car has a problem with cooling? Maybe its just different software versions.

Definitely yours is doing the right thing.
Spirited driving triggers the cooling fan, you can actually hear it.
And it's very effective in dropping the coolant temp.

Yup. Funny that the temp is higher while cruising @ low RPMs and actually lower during aggressive driving.

That's done on purpose, for fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

If you cycle through the cluster information/diagnostics, you will see one is oil temperature and one is water temperature (logos are slightly different). Water temps will drop under aggressive driving and it is common and normal. This will likely happen if you are in road/comfort mode fully warmed up and driving and switch into the most aggressive mode, default M2 for example.

Nothing to worry about!
