“I want them but don’t want to spend $$$ and I don’t wand cheap chinese knock offs”
“But I really want them”

Apparently have/had them in my M2C and had to go back and check if they are really with the 3-stripes after reading this thread, LOL…

Even the m240i gets them. My 2023 M3 did not.

I am wondering if anyone can post the part numbers for the M-belts. I would certainly like to buy them and replace them on my car when it arrives.

Thanks in advance.
This seller can get them for you: https://www.ebay.com/itm/20412499651...mis&media=COPY

Agreed. I mean they're probably fine. But I'm not willing to use that sentence to describe my seatbelts.

Those damn CAN Transceivers build in China FABs, assembled in ASE Shanghai, and tested there, similar with the SBCs that control all ADAS, and systems in the car, the MOSFETS that flip on and off so many safety things in the car all built at HH Grace or other Chinese foundries and all pretty much finished and tested in China, and so on...

I do understand that the seatbelts built in China may be the last thing we want in our cars

Then go buy a DongFeng and save 95% of the cost. I hope that you never get to use the seatbelts on it.

Well, as I said above, I really don’t care what belts I have (base or Comp) and had to go and check on my M2C what kind are they when I read this thread.

However, if I were to upgrade anything on a $90k car, it would not be a cheap knock off (not because where it is made, but because it would make no sense - like some buy cheap CF just to say they have it on the car although it does not look right…)

As others have said, all 2024 model year M3 and M4 will have the M belts standard.

2023 model year M3/M4 do not have the M belts standard (6MT).

If you end up with M belts on a 2023 M3/M4 6MT you won the belt lottery!!! (As I did on my early 2023 M3 6MT week 31 build in 8/2022)

OK. Yeah, thanks. The majority of the comments are not very helpful to me as OP. I am well aware of the MY24 changes. How is that helping me find the part numbers?

I would appreciate if anyone has access to the ETK software that could dig up the part numbers for the 5 seat belts with M stripes.

These parts will become more abundantly available in 1 - 2 years, as they become part of standard equipment on all cars. I am going to keep track of them and buy them once the price is right

I have literally never had luck in my life yet my M3 6MT has it on the VIR and they are listed in My Garage as standard. Build week 21 (or 24, depends on if BMW has decided to have Genius see only one date by the end of this week), status 102 currently (individual Daytona Beach Blue).

Looks like it’s time to drain all accounts, put the house up as collateral and buy all the lotto tickets money can buy. If I got this lucky once….

Even if you don’t get lucky at least you’ll have that beautiful Daytona Beach Blue to look at!
