It was ALWAYS on the cards. They were testing the car for a year at the Ring

The Jähre with 500 specimen will be a collector's catch

I agree but with their prices too close to each other, I think the collectors might want the CS vs the Jahre. The worst part is most Jahre came without carbon buckets and if they did, their price will be close to the CS anyways. Since this is a limited production car for 1 yr, wonder how many will be produced.

I think there will be at least three times the number of CSs than there will be Jähres

It looks surprisingly great with the gold rims. I’m roped back in too.

I did a small write up on it on my site.

In short, I’m sure it’ll be wonderful, but not special.

Porsche did it right with the 911 R, meaning stick and an NA engine. I know bmw probably never will, but it doesn’t mean they can’t.

The Jahre was a US exclusive the CS is a global model.

Think of it like this the Jahre was US dealers celebrating 50yrs.

The CS is proper special model from BMW.

Guys acting up like jahre is something new, there's been a few before just look at there values if you want a clue.

To me CS isn't about it's price bracket, it's for ppl who favor a more developed at the driving level experience, it's more focused and prioritize s quicker laps, more stable suspension, more power etc. But mainly the driving experience.

CSL is the same but a notch higher. It's not impossible the price of the CS was maybe planned to be a few grand lower when they started development but we are here now and the price of normal Ms went up too.

There are plenty of special model cars from other brands that I don't think are worth it and I don't go on forums whining and bitching about it. BMW crowd is special sometimes

Apparently, I'm the third person that inquired about the car, was told the above, and said "nope". I put a deposit down on a regular M3C that they don't have an allocation for yet, so I will have to wait a while. Will get that with an individual paint and that will do for me.
The price adjustment days are over. Who would pay 150k for an M3 lol.

I mean no offence to anyone by quoting my dealer (who didn't have a M3CS to talk about).

"M3s are like a**holes; everyone's got one"

Oddly enough, he didn't have one 😂😂

This is a tough sale…the price has reached to a point where I’m seriously considering a used 992 S instead.

Anyone confirm all the suspension details? If it’s just EDC recalibration it would be even tougher sale…

The spec reads the same as the CSL, with helper springs, additional camber, etc. Except no mention of lower ride height (CSL is 8mm lower). I guess it makes sense given full seats with capacity for 5 adults and luggage.

The individually tuned axle kinematics and bespoke wheel camber settings, dampers, auxiliary springs and anti-roll bars serve to optimise steering precision, transmission of lateral control forces when cornering, spring and damping response and wheel location. The electronically controlled dampers of the adaptive M suspension on the new BMW M3 CS likewise come in a model-specific setup, as do its electromechanical M Servotronic steering with variable ratio and its integrated braking system

I hope this is true. Lower ride height would be the icing for sure as there’s no adjustability like Porsche GT cars. But then this isn’t a GT car. I think they have plenty of room to lower the car and recalibrate the EDC appropriately.

I guess we’ll find out today.

Sounds like depending on driving mode and potentially rate/speed/condition the steering rack will have a variable turn to lock ratio. Servotronic meaning it’s not a real rack but electronic steering.

Did you talk to anybody at Herb Chambers about leasing vs financing the CS? If it serves me right, the CSL was finance only. BMW didn't want CSLs coming off lease and disrupt their CPO pricing structure.
