I was on a long waiting list with the local dealer where I live. 12-18 months, based on what they told me back in April/May when I went to put down a deposit. I later cancelled that deposit, and got my money back.
I then found Hans (Day Laborer on the forum) and reached out to him and emailed back/forth, and checked the list of manuals in the States. None lined up with the spec’s I wanted. I was going to grab one of his allocations, for a very reasonable fee. Then, an individual from the boards pointed me to a BMW dealer in TN with an open allocation. I sent them (TN dealer) my spec, but, the allocation was for a ‘23 CompXD and they couldn’t switch it with BMW or a different dealer that had a manual allocation. So, they (TN dealer) provided me with the info. for that dealer. Hours before I called the dealer with the manual allocation, one had opened up through TN, and since I was already working with them, they gave me that one. I put down my deposit (second one) and once everything was firmed up, I received the production number, which I used to track the car with mygarage. I called the geniuses and they told me week 29. Fast forward a month and a half, and now, the car is in status 151. Status 150, therefore, took about 40-45 days (including weekends) to change to 151. I don’t know exactly when 151 happened, but, it was probably this past Monday, I think. Roughly, 6 weeks. I have a feeling, so long as the ships are moving right along, that I may have the car around the end of August, or, sometime in Sept. Hope that timeline helps, a bit. Not the most accurate, just a recollection of my requested build. |

Nice! I may have to call the genius hotline this week, to see if they have any updates, but, seeing what I’m seeing in mygarage, I think it’s definitely moving right along. Much sooner than I anticipated, at least.

Oh wow! I’m week 28 and mine isn’t even in paint! Is that status 152?

Perhaps because it’s a pretty standard build with no special requests, really (No CCB’s, No Carbon seats, no carbon anything as I think it’s overdone and not my preference, no special paint (which oddly enough would be carbon black ), etc.). Would be cool if it arrived in time for my 50th, but, I won’t hold my breath! |

My build was SSG, red calipers, cooled seats, full leather (black), aluminum rhombicle trim, shadowline lights, extd shadowline trim, laser lights, 19/20 bi-color 825’s (passed on the orbit grays, which was close), and of course, a 6sp m/t because they’ll be dead soon enough, and I’m not trying to win any awards on the street. Beyond that, it’ll mostly stay stock for it’s tenure in my garage. |

And likewise! Good tidings sent to the BMW M team! Haha.
Coolest part of the experience will be driving from the mountains of TN to the flat lands of FL! Tail of the dragon, most importantly, which I never got a chance to do with my previous STi. |

I'm a doofus. I was looking at June dates instead of July. I'm Week 29, not Week 28 hahaha.
Still excited! I'll be posting more in this thread instead of the Week 28 thread.

I just checked in with the geniuses and I’ve been moved up to week 28. So, good luck to all you week 29’ers! I guess I’ll be chiming in on the week 28 thread. The car is still in the paint booth, supposed to be completed by tomorrow or thereabouts, and then quality check, and all other statuses thereafter. |

Called the Genius. I asked for a ballpark estimate and he said mid/late August delivery!
Not a confirmation but helps me plan!

Sad to have left this group. But I bet I was days away from not being able to make the interior switch I wanted. Good luck to ya'll!
Late August seems about right for PNW. It's a pretty lengthy boat ride. |

Better to get your spec, than not, even if it extends the wait time. GL!

Dealer offered me lots of cash for it so I took advantage of equity and placed a new order since he had an open allocation for manual. I got rid of buckets since my passengers were complaining on the new one. Also went with BG.

Makes sense. I loved the look of the buckets, but, for me, it was a tough sell so I opted for the regular seats with cooling. BG = Brooklyn Grey I presume? As opposed to which color that your had previously?

I feel like I have posted in a bunch of these threads. I feel (fairly) confident that I am solid with Week 29 now...
Here’s my journey… MY24 Base M3 (Manual), Tanzanite, Black Carbon Buckets, Lasers, Executive… Timeline: 11/19/22: Placed deposit and put on the waitlist 3/04/23: Received allocation and production number - status code 111 5/11/23: Status Code: 112 5/11/24: Status Code 105 5/12/23: Dealer call… No Carbon Buckets, change to standard seats or MY24? 5/12/23: Decision to keep Carbon Buckets and give up MY23 allocation 5/16/23: Confirmed back on the waiting list with the dealer (Not super happy about that) 6/05/23: Contacted Next Level Brokers (Awesome! Wish I had done that earlier) 6/06/23: Secured MY24 Week 28 Allocation 6/07/23: Status Code: 111 6/15/23: Status Code: 112 6/25/23: Status Code: 111 6/26/23: Status Code: 112 (Called CA confirmed build week 28) 7/09/23: Status Code: 112 (Response from Genius “Production starts 7/18-7/22” Week 29?) 7/11/23: Status Code: 150 (VIN and Production Date 7/20/23) Hopefully I can stay here for a while |
