Id like to know this as well. I wanted to add some color options to my ambient lighting. But I heard that Bimmercode didnt work with ID8 yet?

I disabled ASD using the regular coding (not expert). Unfortunately, I can't be certain that it worked - I haven't driven my car enough to know the difference. Is there anyway to know for certain? Has anyone been successful disabling it using the regular coding, while using an android?

Unless, it closes with the lock button rather than the trunk button. It looks like BMW did away with the kick under the bumper to open/close the trunk. I loved that...always worked well, for me.

Is there a list of options that are available through expert coding? There isn't much in regular coding. Would be great to see what more is available.

I have a 2023, and while I can hear a minor difference between sport modes, I can't say I can ever hear engine noise through the speakers. I hear a lot of 'drone' being mentioned but I can't hear it in my 2023, and the exhaust button is always lit up. I even tried disabling that button and no sound difference. I both upgraded under the seat subwoofers and through a subwoofer in my trunk and STILL don't hear engine noise. I don't think I am deaf, but have yet to disable ASD as a result.

Someone asked and I was able to get 5 blinks working in my iDrive 8 car, but the GF's 2020 X3 has the option appear in here iDrive but cannot select it. Wish I knew how to solve that one!

I just got the TestFlight version by bimmercode. Boy is the car quiet in the cabin now. Huge difference. Clicking the exhaust button now just changes the exhaust flap status.

To be honest for the average consumer I see why they did it. If you don’t push the car you’ll never hear it. The sound gave some drama at low speeds. But for car enthusiasts like most of us here it’s obviously fake, drones at highways speeds, and affects your music especially the bass.

Just frustrating BMW doesn’t give us a toggle to shut it off.

Are you saying test flight version makes the exhaust button become a valve controller (full open vs full close)? Or are you saying it just acts like OEM other than you not hearing fake sound?

Question for the Guru's.

I have 22 with ID7. I had added some custom colors to my ambient lighting with bimmercode some time ago.

My car recently updated itself OTA via the BMW app. Now my custom ambient lighting colors I had added via bimmercode are gone. Maybe other things are too that I haven't noticed yet. But the interior colors defaulted back to OEM colors.

Ive never had a car update while it was coded. So Im not sure what I do to put them back they way they where.

Do I restore from bimmercode backup?

Or does the update wipe out my backups and start me with new fresh bimmercode settings?

I havent plugged bimmercode back to my car yet and wanted to make sure I do this right.

So complete newbie here to Bimmercode. Can anyone recommend a good OBD adaptor? Ive seen links to the OBDlink BT version and some recommend the OBD to ethernet cable. I have an IPAD and a PC Laptop. Nervous about BT but if thats the way things are done, open to that. I wanna code for antidazzle lights on my 23 M3CX with ID8. Thanks

You want the obd2 to rj5 cable and the rj45 port to lightning cable. Its damn near instant flashing speed. BT and Wifi ones are slow!

What BIGWORM said.. I have both a BT module and the old school obd link ex with the rj45 cable. I almost always use the rj45 one because it's that much faster and more stable. The BT one is nice and convenient especially on the go, but it tends to drop connection and is significantly slower

Another vote for enet cable. It’s way faster than Bluetooth. When I used to use my Bluetooth adapter that wait was nerve racking. I was always worried I would brick the car.
