Valvetronic vs awe

Trying to get opinions on valvetronic full catback vs awe switchback + midpipe. Watching videos but can’t tell a big difference watching them.
Sound? Quality of product? Loudness inside and outside of car? Rasp? Drone? Fitment? Etc?

AWE sounds good, one of the best exhaust tones, but it might be too quiet for some customers as it keeps all four cats and one resonator (unless you also add the AWE resonator delete).

AWE sounds best when paired with catted downpipes.

If you are keeping your downpipes in stock, the Valvetronic is an excellent option with their single midpipe

Haha I have heard that they are similar. Besides that though, any feedback on sound and quality in person?

Thanks for the feedback! I currently run a midpipe that deletes secondary and first resonator. I think I’ve heard you run the midpipe and switchback from awe? How much of a difference is the full setup from awe vs stock vs just midpipe? Is it really not that much louder?
I don’t know if the car is just so well sound insulated but can’t hear much difference with midpipe. I know the outside is louder though…

I have the full Valvetronic. I along with others that have heard my car really like the sound inside and out but outside is the best. As others can attest the G80 keeps quite a bit of sound out of the inside.

Quality for myself has been good so far but there are a lot of negatives out there for Valvetronic as you can read in other threads.

Just the right amount of rasp for me. It's not bad at all. No drone.

Fitment for myself was also good after Valvetronic made the fix for the trouble on early builds.

I had the AWE on my car with their resonator deleted for some time, it sounds excellent.

It's a but too quiet for my taste if the downpipes are stock as well.

AWE sounds best when paired with catted downpipes or if the customer is looking for a mild exhaust upgrade

I agree with the sentiments expressed thus far. I have the AWE Track Edition exhaust with the non-resonated midpipes and it has a great deep tone and growl. It is too quiet for my liking and it does NOT have the overrun pops/bangs like is shown on the green G80 in their YouTube video (which is a bit shady IMO). It does sound truly excellent, but would probably get the right volume with catted downpipes.

I just installed the Active autowerks non resonated single mid pipe. I have the factory muffler and downpipes. I have the Dahler valve controller as well. I am very happy with the results. The valve controller helps alot. You won't be disappointed with this setup.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m reading the valve controller does make a difference so might try that first before a full set up then.
