This is true. I haven't bought anything over $100 for my car, all year. I'm starting to get the itch.

Warning if you want to add the mesh from Amazon:
  1. It's great
  2. It's directional, make sure you put it the same way or it will look weird. It's narrower from one side. Recommend thicker pointing up obviously so that it blocks the silver more.

Where did you buy that honeycomb mesh screen and is it ABS or aluminum/steel? Thanks

I wanted to add an option for the foam.

I had planned on making a gloss black ABS cover and putting it on with body tape. But I forgot to pick up the plastic and decided I didn’t want to wait another week to install the grill and lip.

So I grabbed a can of Gloss Black paint that’s safe for plastic. I covered the radiator and put several thick coats on the foam.
It didn’t hide the dimples. Maybe they could be sanded smooth first.?.?.
But overall just having the foam gloss black I really don’t see it. I have to get super close to notice.

Cheap and easy camouflage

first of all, nice pic ! secondly, good idea for a cheap solution. and finally, never seen such csl style grille without the insert for badge. Why did you go this route ?

Thank you X2.

I don't like any of the staggered M4 badges I've seen.
Looking for an aftermarket grill hoping someone put a little time into fixing the badge area I came across this one where they eliminated it. I would rather have no badge than a crooked one that doesn't fit the space properly.
If someone ever makes a CSL style with a reworked badge area I'll get it.

But I honestly don't even notice the badge is missing. It just looks cleaner to me.

I just spent hours trying to install the vorsteiner abs grill and for some reason it would not go all the way on the bottom screws. Called EAS and they said to remove the foam altogether (which I don’t want to do)…has anybody else had this problem while installing your grill? Did you have to remove all the foam or trim the whole thing? Yes I did watch the vorsteiner video😟

The foam is in sections, you're not removing it entirely. I like this option since it can be returned to stock 100%. The bumper is very stiff and structurally stout.

Otherwise, trimming is your only other option.

You do realize that these aftermarket meshes totally void your warranty. If you think 30% less airflow than what the cooling system has been designed for doesn't affect your engine long-term, you ought to be naive.

I ended up trimming my foam. Fits great now.

That's what I had to do! So lame. 20 bumper take-offs and two scratched headlights later I realized that the V install video was BS.

Autotechnic makes a gloss black CSL grill with a proper emblem indent. I bought it and love it. Sourced a new chrome M3 badge from IND.

The 6x12mm looks to be a much smaller pattern than the pics Nic@Speed&Tech shared in this thread but I think this turned out nicely. It checks all the boxes for me.

1) Hides the foam bumper
2) Protects the radiator and oil cooler
3) Gives the grill section a deeper, darker look
I noticed that you have the competition badge on your vorsteiner grille, did you take your original badge off the original grille? Or did you have to order a new one?
