Also, I don’t know why they call them black ones “smoked”, they really aren’t, they have a clear plastic cover instead of the red one the “OEM” style ones have, not smoked or anything like that, its just clear with a black background just like the blacked out head lights (if you have that option). This allows the turn signals (bright yellow) and the reverse lights (white) to show their true colors instead of masking everything red like the “OEM Style” ones do.

Same here. Jerry aka thatguym4 very responsive. Bought the harness and coding for my G22 and worked like a charm. A little tedious installing but the results are well worth it.

Why is it that the OEM CSL tail lights for the G82/83 LCI look identical to these aftermarket lights?

Also just wanted to check in and ask how these tail lights are holding up for those of you who’ve had them installed for over a year.

They may look identical because things get copied all the time, but not all are the same at all. Personally, knowing the 2025 M cars are coming stock with the new CSL tails on them, I’d wait and see if those OEM prices don’t surprisingly come down big time since they’re not limited to just CSL M4 anymore. They’ll either be cheaper to get and that’s good or they’ll be played out and the old ones will be popular to keep.

They are not all the same if you.look closely at each one and different vendors you can see the difference. I have 3 sets of CSL Style taillights and holding up perfect ... also the OEM and aftermarket laser lights uses the same technology I'd be really surprised if they used the same type of Laser diode....

I had the OEM CSL tails in a shopping cart, and I held off on pulling the trigger, because they were still over $3,200. They swiftly went up to $6,000 within a months time. If they at least go back down to the price I had them in the cart, for, thats far more satisfactory than the $1,600 per lamp, they went up to.
