I’ve read that too - but it could be a good sign that there’s progress. Maybe being assigned to a vessel….

Mine just flipped also!!! You said you were doing PCD also right? Your car was about a day ahead of mine in build and getting to port but looks like we got on same ship so good chance our deliveries will happen close together.

I have also seen that going into transit and back to port means they arrived at destination port. Now, the timing being 1-2 days, I don't think they ship on cocaine speed boats…

With that said, genius is probably the best source. The tracker is very spotty at best.

Not even, got there May 3rd . Wow, They said if it clears VPC quickly I should be able to pick up 1st week of June.

It almost feels bitter sweet since there are builds prior to mine which have not had such luck. I know its outside my control and shouldn't take away from my excitement, but I share the sentiment of those in the wait.

From the port, vehicle had to reach Greenville VPC by train and work order has to be closed after that. PC will contact you for a delivery date after these steps are complete.

My vehicle reached Charleston on 4/29 and my PCD is 5/31.

I resigned to doing PCD, I'm just picking up from dealership. Hoping it'll be quick at that point, once it hits the SC VPC from GA

Theres paperwork from what other members have mentioned. I am sure they can just get that in and route you to dealer vs PCD. Talk to your SA, they can get it done fairly easy.

Below is the info which i received in my PCD confirmation email:

Cancellations:
If you need to cancel your Performance Center Delivery, notify the BMW Center from whom you ordered the vehicle immediately. They are required to submit a cancellation form for your vehicle. Please note the following two circumstances and the resulting outcome:
- If the vehicle has already been shipped to the BMW Performance Center, you are responsible for any shipping charges that apply to transport the vehicle back to your selling BMW Center. Vehicles are delivered to our facility approximately 2 weeks prior to your delivery date.
- If the vehicle has not been shipped to the BMW Performance Center, upon receipt of the Cancellation Form the vehicle will be re-routed for transport to your selling BMW Center at no additional cost.

Imagine if you were a west coast delivery, now they have to train the car out to the other side of the US.

Correct me if I am wrong, If the dealership cancels the PCD now (while car is in transit to VPC), they will send the car to dealership from VPC and I dont have to pay anything....but in case the car has already reached performance center, then i need to pay the shipping out of pocket?

My CA asked me to take the final decision on PC before i reached Bremerhaven.

Even though the vehicle is not in US, they would have loaded it in the vessel based on US port. Since your dealer VPC and PC VPC is different, i am not sure about the additional charge. I think you might not pay anything if you cancel now.

No, I'm pretty sure that "already been shipped to the BMW Performance Center" means shipped to the port of Charleston. Although, if you happen to live in that area, then you might be lucky and not incur any additional costs... though you might have go to the Performance Center to claim your car (without the whole delivery process).

I am planning to drive the car back. What is the official "break in" procedure for the car? No steady HWY speeds, RPM fluctuate but not past 4k? I should be able to rack up about 700 miles, then its almost there to 1200 service.

I don't mind picking it up from performance center without the experience if they can do it sooner! I will talk to my dealer first to see what he thinks is best at this point
