For a lot of folk, not necessarily the OP but perhaps, "sporty" feeling really comes down to wheelbase more than other attributes. A Fiat 500 can feel sporty, to some, despite taking 9 years to get to 60 mph.
If that's the case for the OP, or anyone else, the M2 might be the answer. |

What a stupid thread. OP wants to tell us that he had two g8x’s and now has a Porsche because the BMW wasn’t ‘sporty’ enough.
Sure, you want a weekend sports car, buy a Porsche. The g8x is one of the very few best sport sedans in the world. Que captain obvious. |

It’s now almost 2 years into ownership with many aesthetic & performance modifications however I’m still not totally happy with this car. It’s definitely missing a little bit of soul but my bias comes directly from owning a F82 for 4 years. I feel like if you came from a shitbox Audi or whatever else , G80 will feel on a different level that is until you try a F8x lol or perhaps even a Porsche. With the grille , lip etc upgrades , the car aesthetically speaking is essentially perfect in my eyes. The CS coding on the transmission as well as adding a titanium exhaust also helped on the sporty feel. My next mod will be coilovers, DP and finally throwing on some cup2’s which I think all together will seal the deal…... I hope |

Interesting enough, I’d be curious how your next round of mods turn out. |

So you have to drop money to make it more unique to your own taste. I’ll definitely make a post on those mods and more later |

I've never owned a car I didn't mod - for better or for worse. I don't think this has anything to do with the period the car came out in but rather the personality of the owner.

I’d take my G80 10/10 over the F80 and 7/10 over a 911. Now for a weekend morning blast? Yeah, you want the 911. Twisties at your front door? 911. If not…the G8x has it covered. |

Had mine for just under 2 years, xDrive, so didn't have a manual. Had all the power in the world, fast as hell, but I still found myself missing my F87 M2C with a MT. Sometimes it's not all about the "raw power" or speed. I test drove a 718 GT4, far slower than a G80 xdrive but more engaging and felt more fun. Only bad thing with it was the gearing.... and the price..

Had a 24 M4C and while it was powerful there was something missing. I sold the M4C and got 24M base. I’m MUCH happier now. The M4C was an amazing car but there is just something about rowing gears that is a big part of my fun. I just wish BMW offered the Comp with a manual.
My particular car sat at an Ashville, NC dealer for 6+ months. No one wanted a manual. I think BMW did us manual lovers a disservice by not offering a manual in a Comp. People will say the manual can’t handle the additional tq of the Comp but basically the same trans is used in higher tq cars so I’m not buying it. |
