I just wanted to do an update for everyone on the Carbotech 1521 brake pads I installed a few weeks ago. I mainly did this install for the brake dust on this car. As we all know it's ridiculous and annoying. Kind of crazy what just a set of brake pads cost but I want to keep the wheels clean longer than a 10 mile drive. I ordered directly from Carbotech and Mike Jr. He was great to talk with and the process was super smooth and quick shipping.

Brake feel is similar to stock. Not as much initial bite but damn close and easier to modulate like others have said about the Isweeps and Carbotechs. If I put the brakes into sport mode it really tightens that up so that's an option if you'd like.

Squeal is gone so far as well as the build up in the rotor holes the older pads used to accumulate. I've also had none of the rattling that others have experienced with the Carbotechs.

On to the most important point. The dreaded brake dust. I would say the dust is improved at least 50%. I used to clean my car and drive 15 to 20 miles and they'd already be coated in that nasty sticky brake dust we all know about. Now I can drive a hundred miles and there not even close to that amount of dust and the dust is different as well. It's lighter in color and way easier to clean I've noticed. Honestly most of the initial dust comes from after washing and the flash rust that forms with these pads. Its great to be able to drive and drive and still have fairly clean wheels to enjoy.

So in the end this is a great upgrade and a must for those of us who are anal about keeping our cars wheels clean. I did the brakes myself and it took me a couple of hours from start to finish putting the car up on stands to cleaning everything up to new standards. I used the 9 volt battery technique and some speaker wire I had laying around to retract the electronic parking brake. If your on the fence about it and don't track your car like myself just do it. You won't regret it.

Nice write-up! I agree with all that you said and my 963M wheels stay cleaner looking even longer with the satin gun metal gray finish. 8500 miles on the 1521's now and couldn't be happier.
