Build Week 29 - M3/M4 MY ‘24
Anyone else in build/production week 29? Per the genius I spoke with, that’ll be July 16th - 22nd (which could always change/be delayed).
Now the wait begins. Last edited by mcsquared; 06-08-2023 at 10:02 PM.. Reason: Title |

Chicago weather pretty much dictated the xDrive for me. We have another muscle car that’s lived the fair weather life for 20+ years and didn’t want another garage queen. Want to drive the M3.

Ah, yeah, that would do it. Too bad there’s no manual AWD, as that’s what I would have opted for, honestly. And coming from the STi, I’ll have to get used to RWD, as it’s my first ever RWD car.

Week29 July 16-27 as of yesterday per BMW Genius for me. 2024 M3Cx with regular seats.
Does this mean we will be in the first batch of G80 2024’s? |

That’s a great color choice! Very similar to my 340i. I’ve grown to love the easy maintenance of silver/grey paint compared to a black car.
Tanzanite II and tartufo interior on this build though. |

A couple of months ago, I saw a TZII/SS full on auto trader. It was a 6m/t 2021 with full PPF, with 5100 mi. for around 73-75k, with many of the same options I’d spec’d my car with. Immaculate condition, etc. I almost made it happen, but, the seller decided to keep the car. :/
Then, I had the chance to think about it, and SSG is much in line with my previous Ice Silver Met. STi, and FL heat with darker colors (I have a black Outback), are just a nightmare for OCD types like me. Did you lease the 340? Aside from not wanting another garage queen, as you mentioned, is that what made your decision to move to a g80xC? Just curious. |

Not sure, as I think Brooklyn Grey and Dravit Grey seem to be more popular. I thought about an individual color, and looked through lots of pics, but, the only other color that interested me was carbon black. Loved the looks of it, would hate the maintenance. As for interior, I’ve seen the red, orange, and silverstone in person, and while nice, I just think black is ‘classic’ and future proof. The 825M bi-colors, for me, are my fav’s aside from the 827 or 1000’s in bronze/gold, but, I didn’t feel the need to put them into the finance. Can be purchased separately, down the road, if need be.
I went thru tons of back/forth with options, colors, wheels, etc., and, well, I stuck with a tried and true formula for my needs. |

After a couple of years of false starts and long waits, I have finally been scheduled for production in week 29.
