Argh - almost wishing I wasn't somebody who visited these boards regularly and was just a 'typical' buyer. This '24 vs. '23 thing is giving me a lot to think about for my base G82. After digging through the order/pricing guides, it seems like I'd gain M-seatbelts, have wireless charging included as standard, and get (gain or lose depending on one's opinion) ID8 --- cost is increased by $1600, but its really only $1100 factoring in that wireless charging is now included. I'm also assuming zero LCI changes to the car for '24.
Probably gonna reach out to my dealer to have a discussion --- damn this board ;-)

Yep this is true. I have it in my M2. It'll overheat your phone. When it's not doing that, it's charging at a snail's pace.

jrhav I feel the same in a way with the M3CS coming out...
Regardless, there is always "Coulda Woulda Shoulda" in the back of our minds. By the time you get that car, there will be another feature on a similar model and you will be like damn, should have just waited, or I could have just added this option for another thousand or you may want completely something else by then.... Just get it, draw the line, and don't look back! |

Talked to my dealer this AM and decided to make the switch to a '24 after they told me they would be able to get me an allocation quickly -- should only extend things by ~1 month. Primary reason is for resale value down the line (e.g. '24 v. '23). The other thing that I'll be happy about is getting the M-seatbelts on my 6MT model (I have them on my F82 ZCP --- idiotic that they aren't included as standard on all 'true' M-cars IMO).
If I wasn't already driving an M4, I'd wouldn't have made the switch -- but my current ride still provides quite the thrill. As for the ID8 thing, not really sure how I feel about it, but it is (obviously) the new standard for BMW. It looks a bit funky to me and moving away from physical buttons will be an adjustment, but its the current/future (guess ID9 is really the future). All in all, it's just a dash -- hardly the reason why I'm getting another M4. Good luck to all you Week 6'ers --- I'll be a constant visitor to this thread wondering 'what if' --- at least until I have a new Build Week from BMW!

Anyone called to verify they haven't been pushed back because of lingering issues from the stop sale late last year or anything? |

If it doesn't switch on week 6 I'll call genius again. I'd really like a vin number so I can use the APP and download the owners manual. I'd like to learn about the options in the traction control and engine settings so I can adjust it right away. |

The build week is when production begins.

Ok. This will be my 5th time ordering a BMW. I’m simply sharing from my experience. I’m not going off of what I’ve heard.

I have heard otherwise from this website. I know Genius staff are not always correct, so I have no idea what to believe.

Starts at the beginning of your week, and should take about a week. So you are in the production stage throughout that week you're assigned. Rough estimate and all, some start early, some late, so probably adds to the confusion of trying to nail down exact dates.

Reading some of the other threads. It seems the Fiona Red is the common denominator on build weeks getting pushed.
Anyone else notice this? |
