It is really odd how they are selecting which cars are being produced. I received my allocation mid January and had a week 11 and then the plant closed for a week and I was pushed to week 18 (unsure of start or completion; two different answers from CA and Genius). I don't think the carbon buckets are the only thing delaying builds as I don't have them on my build.
Maybe their selecting the cars to be produced first that went through "Bmw financing"and second and 3rd party financing get flip flopped all over the place 🤷🏾*♂️

Naw…I don't believe the factory has this information. I imagine the factory has a "plan" on the build order selection process; they just don't share it. Or, it's just a shit show and luck?

I agree I believe they have a plan, it's more than likely the constant inconsistency with parts. Forces them to move things around based on parts availability.

I was at status 112 week 13 for a couple of days and am now showing 112 for week 20.
I am hoping that my simple build sheet, skyscraper, Yas Marina, Carbon trim, makes a timely production more likely.
It is kind of hard complaining about this when one of the factors in the delay is that the people who were supposed to be building our wiring harnesses are fighting for their lives instead of working their jobs.
First world problem for sure.

My G80 was week 16 then they shut down Munich for two weeks due to wiring harness supply issues. Now production is planned for week 29!
Disappointed but sounds like they are moving sourcing of harnesses and or focusing on i4...

So sorry to hear that... I was told by Genius and dealership yesterday that week 22 is slated to end of model year 22. Do you have any perspective if week 29 will be model year 23? (that's beginning of August).
really that's interesting because a few of us from weeks 13 and similar weeks got pushed to week 23. I was assuming like week 26 started MY23

If a MY22 rolls over to a MY23, are you subjected to a price increase if BMW adds one?

I am pretty sure he doesn't know the answer to that. They are just going off of what they see in their system.

Bitching at people who have no control over the process is not going to get your car any quicker.

i think he's pretty close. my CA has told me since i ordered in December that it takes 4-8 weeks to get to them after production is complete

I know someone who got their M4 delivered to BMW Seattle today. He said it took a little over a month from completion to delivery. That is probably the best case scenario.

My CA said its about 30 days on the ship to get to the west coast. Then you have to factor in customs clearance at the port + travel to the final delivery dealer.

On a ship to east coast is generally 15 days and west coast is around 28. This does not include any time at either port or customs. This is essentially just counting for time at sea with no diversion or holds. So one month would be absolutely best case and you should probably play the lotto if it happens lol

Just spoke with Genius. I'm 112 now but still scheduled for build week 20 (Mid-may).

Now they always say that is when it'll enter production, however most on the forums say the build week is the week that the car should finish production. Who knows.

Yeah just heard from my CA:

Quote:
All of these dates are fluid until it's actually in production. Could be later but just depends on supply, labor and all the other potential hurdles involved with producing a car these days.
Don't get too attached to your build week.
