Will map 2 work with 91 octane? JB4 feels like a lot of money for me to only use map1. I wish they still had JB1 for the G8X series then.

Our gas here is 91 octane with 10% ethanol.

I believe all 91 and 93 have up to 10% ethanol.

You need to datalog and check if your 91 is good enough to support map 2.

The below is from RC:

Each level on the RaceChip is a more aggressive tune. The GTS and GTS Black will give you access to all 7 maps, with the RS giving you up to map 6, and the entry level S going to just map 5.
-Map 0 will be the car back in stock condition. Perfect for valet's, someone borrowing your car, or even going in for service.
-Map 1 and 2 will be the economy modes. Perfect for a road trip and maximizing fuel economy.
-Map 3 and 4 will be our sport modes. A nice balance of power and torque over stock with smooth acceleration.
-Map 5 and 6 are the Race modes. Take your car to the next level with a significant increase to power and torque.
-Map 7 is Race+, based on maximizing the power and torque that your car can produce. Suggested for 93 octane, or high quality 91 octane. Maybe too aggressive for some drivers.

Thoughts on the Dahler unit? PSI ran that on their Manual G80 and it was a set it and forget it for an extra 100 hp. Kies also had it early on their build.

Once I’ve updated the remote BMW software I keep getting misfire codes with RC only on startup. Once I remove it, it’s all gone. Even when it’s off. Something is not working well w/the new software updates. Maybe RC need to update thier software. Please note it does not throw a check engine light. When you read codes, it’s there as it only happens for a brief second or so. Anyone running RC should be checking for codes

Hadn’t considered it… price is double a JB4 though it appears?

Did you ever figure out why it threw codes?
I have an RC from my last car and ordered the new cables from them. Just waiting to get through the break in service before installing

I think the Dahler piggy back may be a rebranded RaceChip. It looks damn near identical. But Dinan and Carbahn look similar as well...
So who knows.

Many companies use the same hardware / chip for their tuners. The maps are completely different.

Is Map 5 and 6 ok for 91 octane?

I believe all modes are developed on 91 octane, but depending where you live (where gas might not be great), I think 93 octane would be more preferred. I'm able to run BP 93 oct with up to 10% eth. all the time thankfully....

since they dont disclose how much boost is map is adding and the tune does not datalog, its tough to say if these maps are good with 91.

I personally would not go over map 5 with 91 and map 6 with 93
