Most exclusive G80 edition
At 500 units being assembled, is the BMW M3 Edition 50 Jahre more exclusive than CS or CSL? And the exclusive colors that BMW opened just for the run of 500... Thoughts?

It's just an appearance package. 🤷🏻‍♂️ CS/CSL have other features that better differentiate from standard Comp.

Those exclusive colors can be had for $4500 on a normal G80/2 now. There’s nothing special about a Jahre.

Yep, those colors were just blocked from optioning on any other build for a bit of time before and after the Jahre editions were being produced. They have been optioned on builds without any problems now.

It's not worth the mark up but they packaged it pretty good for the MSRP.
Would it retain higher value than the regular M3 G80? Only time will tell but it won't be much, look at the 30 Jahre... |

Maybe my question was not framed correct. Given the 50 Jahre has no chassis or performance increases, but all of the Carbon Fiber on plus the car seats, steering, wheel, seat belts, headrests, wheels.... the additional bits and pieces cost break even at MSRP... but this isn't about $$$.,
It is about volume of production The G80/G82/G87 production numbers 10000+? The number CSLs produced from the factory is going to be 1000? the number of CSs are going to be in the 1000? The 50 Jahre has 500 units produced. If these numbers are close correct then 50 Jahre edition has fewest produced. |

It doesn’t matter how you phrase the question, in this case, limited production is not the same as rare. It’s essentially just a badge package and they depreciate just as fast as normal cars. This car is only special to the person that is convinced to buy it.

You’d never know the Jahre were rare if you’ve been shopping for available M3s. Feels like they’ve been consistently available on the resale market at prices that are hard to justify. It limited the options available to you (ie full leather or driver’s assistance pro) and forced you into things you might otherwise might not have wanted to pay for. To each their own but if you truly want something special you could build one to exactly what you are looking for at a much cheaper price.

The Jahre might be the most exclusive edition, but you're likely going to have the same exact spec as dozens of other cars out there (Jahre had a very limited set of options: exterior color, brakes, seat style). If you want an actually rare car just go through the individual program and choose a rare color.

If you took a CS and went with the individual paint option then you might get down to 1-of-1 or 1-of-a couple.
