Ugh, this is the first M3 that I honestly am not excited about. Which really sucks. I think BMW needs to bring out individual colors, more than the blue & white. They had that purple, why not make it available from the get go?

I would think some people might start to re-think their choices if they can't quite correlate the visual impact with the impact on the bottom line for some of the decisions. Obviously these are all things we could have figured out before and visualized in other configurators, but even so, we all have pretty simple minds and will subconsciously weight choices differently when there's a bit of a disconnect.

M Carbon air curtain (instead of black shadowline) on the side gill M Carbon blade = Carbon inlay instead of honeycomb mesh on the lower front intakes M Carbon rear spoiler (instead of black shadowline) M Carbon mirror caps (instead of black shadowline) Single-piece carbon finishers around the tailpipes (instead of polished black tips) A non-carbon, visually-upgraded diffuser insert is also included (instead of black shadowline). So the "M Carbon blade" is the biggest distinction, the others basically just replace some black bits with carbon bits.

Touché . What I am getting at is that the option list and prices have been available for some time, and some folks seemed to have missed that completely. I wanted to provide the link so they can get caught up if they wish.

Once Individual interiors are available to order from the factory, they will be added to the guides, and then at some point after that they'll be added to the configurator. |

Did anyone notice that the center console trim around the 6MT shifter appears to be glossy black on the configurator (like the glossy black trim in the automatic-only M3/4 Competition) rather than flat gray plastic of the early-release photos?
Or is this just a poor quality image? Glossy black gives a higher quality look.

I wouldn't trust the render to be 100% accurate, I noticed the rear spoiler/lip is also body-colored in the summary picture of the rear.

$72,350 with the only option being the $550 for the color. I want it to be as much of a sleeper as possible, hence the muted colors. That's one of the reasons I like the sunroof. It makes the roof look more normal. I'm only 6 feet tall so hopefully I can still fit a helmet occasionally with the sunroof. The only thing that would be nice is the heads up display but I have to buy the entire executive package for that. I don't care about gesture control, heated steering wheel, etc. So I guess I will save more $$. I may still go for the M3 instead of the M4 for practicality, although I prefer the M4 looks. |

I did a visual comparison... Really it is just the M Carbon blade that splits the lower intake and does look much better. I couldn't see the difference on the rear diffuser? So for $4,700 i might pass and just get the Carbon Blade aftermarket as I do not need to spend almost $5K for a carbon version of what is already on the car.
Can anyone confirm if the rear spoiler is the same size just in carbon? Quote:

This is how I would want mine, I don't see a need for more options. Although, I am still not sure about the exterior color but then I have until summer 2022 on my current lease. Which means by then there should be more colors to choose from. Price is great, much lower than I anticipated and I didn't have to compromised on any of my must-have options, which is always a plus.

Sweet! I configured a toronto red 6MT M3 with black ventilated seats. That has everything I need, 70k. Not bad at all.
I need to replace my X5 with something I enjoy driving... I think this will be the ticket |

And that's BEFORE the "M" brand giant sticker that apparently is in the M-Performance catalog.

Submitted Fire Orange but have yet to receive approval
So I went fully loaded with every single option (except carbon ceramics). 6MT
I am not a fan of any of the colors for the gen. This car needs a light color to contract the CF and the black skirts. Yas Marina Blue would have been perfect, Sao Paolo Yellow IS perfect but not a color I could live with (excited to see them on the road). I submitted Fire Orange, but Toronto Red is my back up if it doesn't get approved. I have a week 49 build so I go into production in about 3 weeks.

Prices really aren’t terrible, can get a decent optioned one for about the price of F80 series. Sticker on my 18 Comp M4 was $86k so it’s nice to see no real jump in price unless you go fully loaded (plenty of loaded prior gen cars over $100k as well). Too bad the price and seats are the only thing going for it.
As mentioned above the colors are a let down, I’d like to see Yas or even Miami Blue offered. |

I'm torn between these. I like the SPY, but don't think I could pull it off in all situations. I love the yas seats with it though!
Portimao seems like a viable alternative. I'd consider the orange seats, but wonder if I could like them long term. Alternatively, considering a laguna seca individual depending on the monthly costs. (that pic is technically iris blue, but was as close as the configurator had)
