Catback install help

I am trying to install a full catback, do I need to lift the car on 4 jack stands or can I just lift the front and its enough space? thanks for the help!

you probably will not be able to reach everything by just lifting the front. the bolts are not that tight on there (40ft lbs) so you may be able to do it one side at a time then lift the back. Its heavy so a second set of hands would be optimal or another high floor jack to support the rear muffler.

4 jack stands would be optimal

Someone correct me but I think you can lift the front to loosen the downpipe to midpipe bolts then lower the car and then raise the rear and pull everything off if you want to avoid 4 jacks.

Did you do it with 4 jack stands ? I feel like it’s annoying to even get the car up on all 4 and safer to just do the front then the rear.

I did mine using my quickjack. Tons of room to work.
Some people use front ramps and rear Jack stands too. That could be a better too

Do it right the first time and use all four or quickjack.

Sadly my quickjack I bought 3 years ago won’t fit this car because they decided to make the jack points so far apart. What do you mean by do it right? Will there be issues doing front then rear instead of at the same time?

I have a quickjack and used two thick rectangular tubings to extend out further to reach the jack points. Use at your own risk.

I had to drop the whole thing level and then slip it out. See sawing the exhaust out is going to be pia.

I’ve done all of my exhaust work with 2 jack stands and ramps.

I back the car onto the ramps and put the front up on the 2 jackstands. Ramps are pretty cheap.

I've done a few cars with the "lift one axle, lower, lift the other axle" method, but I would NOT suggest it on this car. I did mine with the rear on ramps / front on jackstands. Given the weight of the stock exhaust / it being one piece, not having the full run of the car would be challenging. Additionally, doing the final tightening / tweaking for fit would also be really hard, as this again requires the full run of the length of the car. Get it up on all 4. - once you do, this is a pretty easy install.
