I'm wondering, while the dealer cant sell the car, since its still in their possession, can they have things done to it? Like PPF'd? I was going to have this done after picking up the car but wondering if I can have it done while its still in their possession. This way I'm ready to roll when I pick it up.

If your car hasn't yet arrived at the dealer, it will be held at the VPC until it's fixed. No way do anything, unfortunately.

Well, if its at the VPC, then its not yet released to the dealer. So cant get anything done. However, i wouldnt trust the dealership to do things like PPF etc. id go with a good custom shop. The proce might be the same. My issue is, I have PCD delivery and now with all this, PCD is also delayed. And if there is a huge backlog of cars for PCD when this thing is finally fixed, I wonder if they will still be able to do a true experience. Might feel all rushed to get as many out so they can clear the backlog

Just checked and I'm still at port. The dealer does have cars sent to a nearby custom shop that I did some looking into and they seem legit. They use xpel stealth, tuck the edges, history of high end cars, etc.

If it's going to be stuck at VPC until it's fixed tho, may as well take to my guy. I hope the old saying "good things come to those who wait" holds true. Since the stop sale notice came out, my feelings can be summed up in

Frozen Dark Grey on the M3 was discontinued.

Frozen Deep Grey on the M4 is still available.

Deep grey is a bit darker (and IMHO better).

Has been a quiet weekend for Wk 36 & 37 folks at the Port. There were 2 ships - the left for east coast 10/1- Liberty and 10/2 - Tosca. Dont know if we are ever gonna get on these ships. Maybe BMW decided to keep us at Bremehaven till the backlogs at VPC is cleared due to the stop sale...Hope something starts moving soon !!!

I'd imagine you're on an east coast ship, but someone did mention some east coast cars getting onto west coast ships so maybe you're on Guardian Leader with us? What did the Genius line say?

FWIW, called Genius this morning, they didn't have any updates for me as they said car status is still "At Port", but did say that once it shows "In Transit" on My Garage, they can tell me what ship its on with ETA at port.

Since the last ship left on the 2nd, and its not the 4th yet (seen from several people here that it takes 2 days to update), maybe we find out tomorrow?

Over the weekend I locate an 2023 m340 not too far from me available witouth the stop sale but these lease numbers are wayyyy high !!

Not even worth the thought of cancelling my m3 after all this wait.

Thats what Im thinking too. I heard they are getting snippy with all these calls reg the stop sale. Didnt want to keep bugging them. Once my car goes into transit, then I can call and see which ship im on. Also, since it takes 2-3 days to update MyGarage, Im hoping by thursday, I should have an answer. If not, then Im not expecting to be on those ships and pretty much what I think is gonna happen come Thursday

I know I remember when I I had my 2020 m340 and wish I had the new G80 and now that I had a chance to build the way I wanted it I'm not gonna miss that chance!
And yeah being stuck at port it's the same thing at the end being stuck at the VPC until
They find the way on fixing this issue !

Came across an interesting read. This might explain why east coast bound cars are seeing so much delays than west coast bound ones. It appears that cars are moving from port to transit to West Coast within 2 weeks while East coast is about 3-4 weeks

Garage. Called Genius yesterday and they said they had no updates and couldn't give me any until Garage showed 'In Transit'.

Checked at 530AM eastern this morning and intermittently after. Changed status shortly after 9AM.
