For a lot of us no MT no M3. If xdrive was available with 6MT I would have looked at it and explored if you can really turn off xdrive and how all that works in details.
Otherwise with AT only option I would have taken X3M X5M M5 - all better looking vehicles than M3. Although M3 face is quickly growing on me now that I have to look at it every day

Believe me, if there was a 6MT option, I would have gotten it. I can't really track those other vehicles though.

I think people are more surprised that the M3 is ranked among cars that typically start at $100k+

Sure a Nissan has been hitting those times for years, but a new GTR is $120k before any options

You can get an F80 for $60k in this market! You'll need $15-25k more for a used G8X.

M3/4 isn't a pure sports car like the GTR, it's a 3 series on steroids, which to me is part of the charm!

GTRs should be considered a 2 seater car, because unless you're planning to carry newborns or amputees, the rear seats are for show and to access your fuel pumps.

No doubt a 2 seater. I've had 1 person in the back. Just have to sit in one seat and throw your legs in the other:-)

Sorry I misunderstood! That's not bad except I see 2009 models in that price range. 10 years is a lot of time for a Nissan in general, what more so in a high performance Nissan that's been driven like it supposed to have been! Finding a garage queen 2009 would be pretty sweet. To me, they are still neck turners.

Knock on wood, mine has been pretty much flawless after building it. Just a few minor issues. Blew the tranny early on but that was my fault:-). Goes with the territory

Ugly Kar? Seriously? You probably drive a Kia Stinger and are just jealous.
Motor Trend started it, not me. Why aren't you all telling MT, Car & Driver, Road and Track and nearly every online reviewer they're all wrong, because I have yet to see any professional evaluation say it looks good. Just a few people here that Rosie Odonnell is a hot babe. I think I've watched at least 50 reviews now and 99% of them say the grill is horrible.

After seeing the pics I thought it was ugly, then I went to a dealer and I saw 2 cars out the side door. And M3 and an M4. I thought they looked great from the rear, and then walked to the front of them and

It's so sad when it could have been a beautiful car with a decent grill, and it's not just the size. I like most of the Audi grills.

As far as a Stinger, I test drove one and it's a nice car for the $. Very good value proposition, but it still doesn't drive like a BMW. I'll pass, but I would own one anyday over a hideous grill BMW. I can assure you I'm not jealous. I can buy about anything I want, but I don't buy a car just to impress people like you.
I have to agree it will be difficult to tell forum members here to shut up about the grill and just move on. For every one BMW enthusiast that like it there are three that don't. Many would buy the car but have not because of it. For those that belong to BMW CCA perhaps you have read the first paragraph of the M440i article in this months Roundel edition. I quote:

"First, let's get the controversy out-of-the-way yes, that schnoz is contentious - a naked mole rat seems to be part of its inspiration - and designers Adrian van hooydonk and Domagoj Dukec are taking a lot of heat for it. If you hate the front but like the rest of the car, you have some options: Drive it a lot, because then you won't see the front, and always park it in such a way that you approach the M440i from the rear"

So there you have it. They love the rest of the car though. Some will buy it in spite of the grill and some will not. I imagine many are irked because they really wanted a new G but can't get past the grill. Going to be hard to "cancel" them and tell them to just move on.

I've been driving an ugly i3 for years now. Not once have I ever said that I didn't want to be seen in it. I don't think anyone who is truly not interested in impressing people would say that.

Even though personally I like the grille on G80/82, I am not a big fan of it on the M440i, the cerium grey outline and the mesh type discontinued horizontal slats/stripes don't look good in my opinion. I did see a lowered M440i coupe moving on the road the other day and it didn't look too bad. The GC looks/seems extra bulky though.

I don't think people hate GTR's. It's more that nobody really cares about them. Great car in its day but it's getting on 15 years and that's an eternity in the auto industry. The only time they are brought up in this forum is when you show up.

That was the entire point homie. They have been sub 3.0 for a loooong ass time. Not sure why peoples minds are blown when a car with same weigh/power and AWD is doing it in 2022?

Because 15 years ago it was impressive to see a one-dimensional sports car do it. Today it's impressive to see a cheaper, more practical (4-door, large trunk, can accommodate a family ...), more luxurious, more comfortable car do the same.
