I keep overthinking how Fjord Blue will look in contrast to the AR exterior. I was told that it is apparently much lighter in person and now I am very confused on how the contrast will look with AR and blue calipers. I was able to find a picture of it on a G80.

I dont see an issue here--- how often will you have the door open and will you tint the windows?

I tint all my cars but I don't want to be hiding the interior. I want it to contrast nicely. I might just have to do the Silverstone Interior cuz I talked to my CA and was told Fjord Blue might just be too light with this color. I'll still keep the blue calipers though although Red looks nice too.

I don't think Fjord Blue will look good with AR. I've seen it in person, it works with more neutral exteriors like greys or whites, but I don't think it will work with AR. Might have worked if it was a darker blue, but FB is a medium blue.

My thoughts are how will you ever see both at the same time unless all you do is leave your door open (if tinted). There is not one of my pics where one can tell whats inside or not.

My thoughts on interiors and contrasts--- of course others will combine the colors in their heads vs their eyes unless, as I stated, the doors are open.

I didnt special order my car, it was on the ground and I grabbed it and honestly the exterior color is all I cared about.

I have spacers on 4 of my cars now and have probably installed over 35 sets thru the years with no issues.

Key points:

materials
install procedure
must be hubcentric
proper length bolts
etc

If this is met you will have no issues as the hub/axle will bear the stress as if there was never any on the car. Spacers have been used since the age of time and even Porsche use to add them on the msrp for the 911's here and there

I love the look with 15mm squared spacers:

Any rubbing at all? Does this create a slight stagger setup?

Also your car is lowered, Does the lower affect the drive experience? I want the car to look clean and lowered but not at compromise of killing the driving dynamics.

One last question - if you lowered the car and put spacers on - do you need an alignment?

Thanks - I also have never lowered or put spacers on my vehicles. Complete noob. Only engine and exhaust mods.

Black, or maybe Tartufo, orange and red clash too much.

No rubbing at all and Im using the oem tires so the "staggered" set up remains. I have the front lowered an extra 5mm over the rear but thats negligible. Im running 15mm square hubcentric spacers.

Ive lowered over 40 of my cars, its not for all one but every car I currently own is lowered as well except the C63BS which has its own adjusters. I choose proper springs that have high spring rates and work well with OEM dampers (Im on MSS with this car). I personally have not lost any driveability or handling sensation with the drop on this specific car.

While many will say "why lower when the factory made it that way", Ill say I want a more aggressive stance and I have very good roads. The key is also in the damper system and how well do they match up with the lowering springs. KW, MSS, and a few others make great set ups that dont compromise but in fact soak up the bumps better at lower speeds while becoming more taut and higher speeds via big bends and high speed turns. While I have not seen anyone who has lowered their car with these basic springs show proof that the car is better on the track; I have not seen anyone show proof of the reverse either. And I dont track the G80.

Yes you will need an alignment after 200 or so miles (once the setup has settled) to correct any geometry changes.

Here are some before and after pics. I have not lowered every car Ive owned as some come really aggressive from the factory but the G80 and definitely the G82 need a suspension adjustment visually IMHO:

Before

After

That doesn't look like KO on the inside, I think it's tartufo. KO has some black inserts in the middle of the seat. Maybe it looks this way because of lighting/filters?

I have not doubt there are others that have this color in a G8X but probably not yet here. We are really a minority of the ownership representation but... we are way cooler

About to join this exclusive club. I'm, set on AR, after much debate, still haven't decided on the interior, leaning towards tartufo. It's been hard to decide between AR, TB and Skyscraper gray.

Because I'm ordering a car with some options which are restricted at the moment like laser lights and 360 camera they told me between 4-6 months. The factory will notify the dealer once the necessary parts will be available, it goes on some kind of waiting list I guess. Dealer said, it might be sooner as they've had some pleasant surprises lately, but they want to be covered, just in case. If I wanted a car without the restricted options I could get it in about 45-60 days, but I'd rather wait.

Is it 100% tartufo as Kyalami is much lighter and has black inserts as you mentioned.

Hey Vic , I noticed you said you previously owned a RWD M3, can you get the xdrive one to slide in corners/roundabouts at low speed or do you need to be going fast in order to get the rear end out?

Depends how bad you want to look on the streets but its hard in the Xdrive unless you are in 2wd as the tech really does its job to protect the honigans out there.

The easiest way I got to the wiggle formation is via M2 where its in 2wd and of course DSC off and traction at 5. Plus I have a racechip so the added tq allows for me to push out the car easier.

The RWD was a riot in this regard but still had plenty of grip to keep the idiots in line.

Not planning on doing anything crazy on public roads, but I have a few low speed roundabouts on my commute and I like to wiggle the car a little. I was thinking the 4wd sport mode would be more lenient with slip angles and behave like the rwd car.
I guess I'll stick to the RWD, though the price difference is a lot lower than I thought between them, works out at just 1.7k eur in my country, because the xdrive comes standard with the optional larger wheels.
