Congrats to those of us who kept believing in this car and to those who didn’t. It’s a win for everyone.

Ok and? Again you don’t have to agree with their marketing but again your need for information on a car doesn’t trump what’s going on in the world. Lastly, you don’t know if the video was created before the second lock down. If you need someone to tell you to like a car then it’s not the car or you.

Super irritating. If they don’t like the car it’s ok but the fact that they complain non stop is just weird. Just for shits and giggles I went and looked at some of the post during the E92/F80 transition and it was the same shit. Now most worship the F80z

You think they’re back peddling because information wasn’t available when you wanted it to be available. Yeah screw COVID and mandatory European lock downs CanAutM3 wants a review.

I do need BMW to give me the information required to assess if it is the car for me. Since they failed to do so, I ended up going elsewhere for my next car.

Not a review, but actual technical information from BMW. And yes, I needed it earlier to make a decision on my next purchase. Funnily, the "other" German manufacturer I decided to go with did provide plenty of information and also made cars available for reviews during the COVID...

Seems like you are trying to find excuses for BMW...

The G80 is much better looking than the F80.

Blaming "BMW Marketing" for giving people a "scapegoat" for the look of the car or the heaviness? Oh no, certainly don't denounce the people that are making horrible comments online or worse.

It's like he's providing a diagram of how to harass BMW and their employees on social media and what their consequences should be.

I almost want to sign into YouTube and call him out for being a colossal tw a t. I hope he watches this video in a year so he can cringe at what he's saying like some of us are now.

The M video gives you the weight of a lightweight configuration for the G8x. If you want to go lighter, you can always modify it. But sure, let's pretend that's impossible for the less than 1% of G8x Ms that will see a track and instead join a bandwagon for views.

If you don't like the car, move on with your life. I used to enjoy watching the Apex Nuerburg videos but with content like this and the steadily declining quality into YouTube-drama level, I should probably move on with my life as well.

The E90/F80 was probably similar at the end of F80 production.

It is very interesting tracking several new vehicles how certain options can affect the weight of a vehicle. One thing for sure, more power = more weight in general.

I follow Robert on Youtube and he was very outspoken about the grilles and suggesting that he and his company Ring Taxi along with others that were able to see the grille before release told BMW not to do this with the iconic M3 (the large grille).

He has been very critical of BMW, but as stated he owns 11 of them, he is a fan, it all goes back to the grilles and the odd marketing.

Does it matter when the video was made? All the information was already available at launch but apparently they deemed that nobody would be interested in weight. They however preferred to release videos for the sport exhaust, spoilers, decall sets, other cosmetical stuff and the bizar KITH relation.

Now, so many weeks later, they release a video discussing the topic that dominated discussoins of the fan base from day 1: weight. This makes me believe that BMW did not intend to discuss technical stuff at all.

I don't see a conflict caused by covid in releasing anything that was said in the video as from day 1.

Robert Mitchell has said it pretty well - comment was on the money. If people cant deal with it - so what. Dog pisses on a wall, not because its being a hooligan, but just what it does. People will have negative opinion on bad info or bad design, and thats just what it is. dont be mad at that.
