That looks really good, but likely only because the terrible rear tail light design isn't visible. Hate how the G82 and G22 tail lights are so angled with this generation instead of having the traditional horizontal shape. I admit I'm hard to please though - I'm equally dissatisfied with the G20/G80 tail lights, which are on the opposite end of the spectrum i.e overly horizontal and too simplistic. The F80/F82 LCI lights were great by comparison. I also like the G30 lights, so it's not like BMW has completely forgotten how to make good looking lights. They just really screwed up on the G80/G82. I'm hopeful the LCI will be much better.

Looking vicious! I would personally picked the black interior tint it to murder it out. The M3 is still the one to go with this generation

The Frozen Black colour is of course an eye-catcher, but cliche.... too many cheap imitations too.
The frozen orange is my #1

It could have been saved if they did suicide handles like a GTR. or just made a bigger line in the door. It's interesting, maybe the performance will make up for its looks.

The fake vent is disappointing.

Plus the color means you don't see that horrid black strip around the base of the car which gives the car a different stance perspective.
Not sure if it's been lowered but I think there is definitely some serious photoshop work going on, the tow hook plug, front sensor & reflector are all missing from the front too.
It could just be a matter of perspective but the lines of the front fascia look very different. I suspect this is CGI.

I have yet to see a pic of the upcoming gen that I DIDN'T like though.

Much easier to maintain, less susceptible to rock chips, and if you have an issue you have to replace the wrap on that panel, NOT have the panel repainted with a very difficult color to replicate. Lot of paint shops cannot handle frozen paint.

Looks nice in the pic, but I saw a frozen black car at M Track Days. To me it looked like the people that go buy some spray paint from walmart and spray paint their car.

One of my thoughts from seeing the car in person was that the sides look flat and tall, and not necessarily in a good way. I think moving that line up higher on the door would just further accentuate that fact

Can you clarify the comment on how a matte wrap is easier to maintain then frozen paint?

I would garner that the same car care techniques are applicable to each, no? Matte/frozen specific soaps and waxes. No buffing or polishing. In regards to overall maintenance and speaking from personal experience, the maintenance is actually 'easier' then a gloss paint. I hear your point about rock chips and painting, but again there is various PPFs available to protect the paint and because this type of finish is more common now in the marketplace, there are more shops that can refinish a panel to match the rest of the car. I am not really following your misconceptions about the finish and quite frankly their misleading. Matte/ Frozen paints are different than Gloss and subsequently they require different approaches to their care.

This. PITA to wash the car. I use to wash my car whenever and wherever i want and that would be over. Specialized detailers only.

I litteraly fell in love with the frozen dark grey G80 that i saw IRL at an event but my BMW dealer said better avoid frozen paint if its a Daily driver.

Misinformed / old legends.
Ask the actual users - people who own and maintain (myself included).
Small insight - A very wide range of standard products not explicitly made for matte are perfectly fine and safe to use.

Can you take it through a car wash?

If you are an enthusiast you dont take even a metallic paint through a carwash, even if it says touchless.

I hear what you are saying, but people like me that live in Chicago and suffer through brutal winters with snow/salt don't have the ability to hand wash the car when it's -20 degrees. I need the ability to run it through a touchless wash now and again. I know I can do that with a metallic paint, but would never think of doing it with the Frozen. I believe you can go through a touchless with Xpel, thought, right?

I live in Canada and we have far more cold and snow here. There are plenty of wand washes that we go to that I can use. I would use straight water to clean the car. If I need to get a good clean, I would bucket wash it right in the bay quickly. I guess if it were me though, I would be choosing to not winter drive mine, regardless of paint finish. I've done that in the past with other M cars and it just gets beat up for rocks, snow and ice. I get that not everyone can afford to have a dedicated summer car.
