For those who have cars currently in production or may be placing an order below are the actual dates of my vehicle build per the “Track Status” time line found in the MyBMW app. This info might help further pump up your excitement and anticipation. I did not include dates for every sequence. As you can see once the vehicle comes out of the paint booth the assembly process goes quite quickly. The last reported sequence is when the car is at the port of export. From that point on completion of the remaining steps (i.e. in transit..., at dealership, etc) becomes even more variable depending on where you live.

11/11 - in production queue
12/9 - in paint booth
12/11 - quality check
12/14 - awaiting carrier assignment
12/15 - dispatched from factory
12/16 - at port facility

Are you going to have dealer delivery of a Performance Center delivery?

No, mine is being delivered to the dealership. Have you been told when you might actually take delivery? The earliest indication when I might received word when that delivery date may be is sometime in January. At the present the advertised “release” date is mid March - that is the timeframe the dealer will actually get the car. Meanwhile, it is my understanding the car will be parked at the port of entry until then. Cruel punishment.
