White or Blue? Decisions, Decisions

Hey everyone, I'm about 2 weeks away from ordering my M3 Comp and can't decide on the color. I've narrowed it down to 2, but its so difficult. I might just make my kids decide for me, lol.

Blue and I usually am a fan of Alpine White BMW’s. The grills look too flat on the white paint in my opinion. Tanzanite Blue was my second choice because IOMG is too unique of a color to pass up.

I'm an Alpine White guy but it does not look good on a G8x in my opinion. I vote blue and recommend you consider the orange interior even on blue as I see you spec'd it on white but not on blue.

Tanzanite is arguable the most boring blue color this go round. I don't think it contrasts well against the CF aero. Would you consider portimao blue over tanzanite?

If not, white is my preference.

The OP's pic is actually Portimao

I had to go to the bmwusa.com configurator to confirm. Tanzanite is much darker on the configurator just like it should be

thanks for the replies everyone... the blue is actually Portimao Blue, not Tanzinite. I definitely feel extremely undecisive with my choices for once. my wife already said if we go with blue that she wants the white interior so I can't tell her no.

ah, and regardless of blue or white, my plan is to wrap it in its frozen color variant. everyone tells me frozen colors don't make for good daily drivers so wrap is the way to go.

why wrap when you have options on stock frozen color?

Maintenance isn't any harder than metallic...just ceramic coating will be very helpful ! only big negative point is when you have scratches you can't just polish them out. I see in the meantime a ton of cars in frozen color and they all look pretty good and clean, don't think anyone of them is a daily cleaner.

It's not? I thought you weren't supposed to run it through a car wash for instance. I thought you had to kind of baby the finish.

to be honest I can't speak from experience but at BMW Driving Experience where they showed me the new M3 they also showed me some frozen colored cars there as I was interested in getting it in Frozen Dark Grey.
She told me they go through the washing street (is it called like that? you know the automatic where you drive through with your car) several times a day with these cars. the paint looked in a damn good shape...

So I guess they improved a lot on the new frozen colors. would ask your dealer if he knows more maybe, don't want to say it is the absolute truth as I really don't have own experience....

I liked the Portimao Blue as my first choice but after seeing this coloe was available on the 3 Series I passed. I wanted something specific to a M car.

White is a tough sell on G8x. I think all the other colors work but the darker the better.

How much do you want the front grilles to stand out? They are going to be quite prominent on a white car, but a little more under the radar on a blue car.
