There's a lot more to the G8x than just the grille design.

Not necessarily actually. I hated the current gen M competition wheels in pictures, but liked them in person.

For the E90 this was like night and day different, for the F10 it was also noticable, but a bit less disruptive.

In the press many journalist state that the F80 improvement came packed in the competition package, but I doubt that. I drove a none competition in 2017 and it felt as good as the competition I drove a few months later.
If any changes were made to fix this issue, they were made prior to 01/16 build date. That is what I have and it is not “snappy” at all. Oversteer is very predictable. FWIW, I have never heard claims of this issue prior to reading this thread.

The M4 is passable (like a C with a passing score of C-) due to all its aggressive upgrades, but I must say the normal 4-series is such a tragedy. The front, the buy eyed headlights, the soft body lines, the lack of a Hofmeister kink, etc. What a terrible looking car.
I think the regular 4 is literally hideous. The front (mainly the grill) is the ugliest thing BMW has ever done to a car.

They went from making elegant sporty lines to a set of oversized gopher teeth.

There are sufficient motoring reviews confirming this issue in the 2015 build. I only drove later dates and can indeed confirm both in competition and none competition, yaw behaviour was fine and predictable. Topgear recently graded the F80 entirely as a M 'missfire' but I don't agree, it was only the 2015 which had this flaw.

It was in several iStep upgrades that they changed the damping and driving characteristics. No known hardware changes were made to subsequent model years to impact the driving.

This is a nice pic to photoshop.

Can someone try to paint match the area where the front license plate is supposed to go?

Shouldn't be that difficult to design a paint-matched piece that could fit in as an option to make it look like a more traditional front end design.

Thx appreciate it. That doesnt seem to help get it back to the traditional kidney shape however. It is what it is.

the problem is you can't just work on the grill and try to hide that enormous thing, doesn't matter what you do all you will get is the car looking hideous (or more hideous for people who don't like the grill at all)

This grill is part of the complete front design. You want to change it then you at least have to change the hood as well as the 2 lines coming down from the hood are elevated and end at the front grill. this gives it a sort of "tube" design when watching only the grill and the elevated part of the hoods. you can see it very well on the pic you posted and espacially on the 3/4 look from the front. And you clearly get the design when seeing the car in the flesh.
