Just spoke to one dealer, they are charging 5K over MSRP, on allocation. LOL. My build MSRP was 84,500

The deal is only $400 more per month than my F90 M5 that had a sticker price of $125K. Seems perfectly reasonable

IMO $80-90k MSRP G8x must lease (zero down) at <$1000/mo before tax and preferably <$900/mo before tax if I'm going to consider it.

I'm making about 15k selling my current M4 from a similar situation. You shouldn't put anything down on a lease, but obviously if you can put something down on a loan you'll be even more ahead of the game. I always lease, but this has me reconsidering it.

Depending on state, taxes could be a major influence. In my state I pay $8k tax up front on an $80k car purchase but only ~$3800 tax over 3 years if I lease. I still agree though that if getting a G8x before lease deals are any good, that purchase/finance is the way to go.

It won't make any sense to lease for the first six months if this tracks similar to other M car releases. You are better off purchasing if you are going to be an early adopter. Even then, the lack of real discounting from most dealers is going to make it painful. That is the price of being first though.

That's going to take a lot of discounting, residual rating and money factoring to get to those numbers. I'm not sure they will get there. I didn't get there on my 2018 M4, well into the life cycle.

Those who have ordered and leasing, did you lock in a current mf or the month you take delivery of the car? Or Whichever mf they are offering that month?

Also tax tag and fees paid up front or all factored into the monthly payments?

Yes everything included. They are discounting 4649. And residual is 44,905. But they want 4K up front. So offered only 1500 upfront. Still waiting.

That must have been the e46 days, and earlier, because my 2013 e92 M3 was $723 per month and 2015 F80 was $829 with zero cap cost reduction (also no MSDs) for 36mo/10k mi. MF was low and Residual was strong on both. However, the dealers were dealing as both selling prices were slightly above invoice. The lease deals always seem to be poor for the initial launch of M cars... it's the price one pays to be the first on the block with one.

I'm only interested in a manual G80 base, and I'm in no rush to be first; so I'll wait until those leases dip into the $800s, which I'm guessing will happen within the next 12 months or so.

For the Canadians around here... got some words on lease rates for Jan. Odd cuz no cars are even at dealers yet, but I suspect they will stay the same for Feb and Mar

36 months 55% residual
48 months 47% residual
5.99% rate across

finance rate 4.99% up to 84 months, same with balloon financing

this...is... bad LOL I guess the residual is fair game relative to competition but I find it odd it's set lower than G22 and F87. The real killer is the 6% rate, hope Feb and Mar programs show better but I doubt it

I think the better question would be what's the whole deal look like. % off MSRP is just part of the deal.

finance? is the rate marked up?
lease? is the MF marked up?

what fees? do you have an allocation.

happy hunting everyone!

4.5% off MSRP

unfortunately financing or leasing is not negotiable in Canada and you are at the mercy of BMWFS. The January program look atrociously bad: 4.99% finance rate, and 5.99% lease rate with 58% residual 3y / 50% 4y both on 16k km a year.

Ideally by the time people take delivery in March, the rates drop without also hurting residual. <4% lease rate coupled with near 60% residual for 3y term would make for decent lease economics.
