Same here, I like the Raptor and the Cybertruck mostly of lifestyle type of reasons. They have that special aura that make a car enthusiast a bit happier than more run of the mill truck offerings .

I know this is an older post, but what would you leave the brand for? The only thing I'd consider is Porsche, but used prices are through the roof and new prices are well beyond what M offers.

I'm patiently waiting for the G87, and I've kinda warmed up to the G80 now that I've seen it in person. But there's a good possibility I'll just keep driving/adding older M's too.

I personally have a 992turbo on order. Yes, I know, a different price bracket altogether, but the G8X is not for me, so I went for the next best thing for my needs.

The turbo has had fantastic reviews, looks like an absolute weapon. Excited for you! What made you go for the Turbo over Turbo S? Might go spec one on the configurator now over a glass of wine 😁

Thanks, I am very much looking forward to it. The reviews are indeed great, saying it almost feels like a daily drive-able GT2. It is those reviews that got me into it as I was originally looking at 992-S.

Short answer: 25k USD and PCCB

Long answer: I've gone back and forth between the base and S multiple times. There is much less difference between the base and the S on the 992 than there was on the 991. It's basically the same engine just with a different tune and you can add all the options to a base that are standard on the S (doing so would be stupid though, might as well get the S at that point). So from a chassis perspective, the way I am speccing, I am getting the same car and I figure 580hp should be plenty for my use. Also, since I intend to track it fairly frequently, PCCB are a no go. So I would need to buy aftermarket iron rotors right off the bat if I were to get an S. And last but not least, it gives me something to move up to after the warranty expires .

When I found my GT4, it was the spec I wanted but has PCCB's. I thought YOLO and bought it anyway, plus I was curious to try them. They feel fantastic on track, great initial bite and feel massively confidence inspiring. By far the best brakes I have ever experienced. I would quite happily run them if they weren't so ridiculously expensive. I have a the full Essex AP BBK incoming for next season, then when I retire the car from the track I can put the PCCB's back on. Might be placebo but that car feels so light on its feet, unsprung weight probably has something to do with it.

I've seen some reviews, Turbo does look mega. It will be blisteringly quick. I'd find it hard to get one over a 991.2 GT3 though, I prefer the experience of a naturally aspirated engine.

Can you spec the turbo with sport buckets? Do it if you can, brilliant seats and keep you nicely pinned through the corners.

Very curious to know how Porsche CCBs compare to APRacing BBK on track. I am planning on getting a GT3RS next (If I can find one for sale. Else a GT4 for sure) with steel brakes and putting on a APRacing BBK.

I agree about the visceral feeling of a GT3, I'd love one too. I had an opportunity to drive a 991.2RS on track, pure bliss . But I am looking for a dual use car, one that can serve the daily duty as well as the track addiction, and the turbo seems to fit that bill very well.

Yes, the CF bucket seats are offered on the turbo-S. However they only come with rear seat delete (likely because they can't tilt forward I assume), which is a no-go for me. I need the rear seats to schlepp the kiddies around.

Actually you can. As part of the "lightweight package" in the US and as a standalone option in Canada. However, it can only be had with rear seat delete, which is a no-go for me.

The AP's are universally well reviewed across every platform, I'm sure they will be excellent. I'll miss the no fuss element of PCCB's, lack of dust, no squeaking on the street etc. Can post when I have some track days down. Aesthetically the yellow calipers look boss as well, the AP's are far more function over form.

The stock GT steel brakes are very good, I wouldn't rush to change them. If my car had steel brakes I would leave them alone probably. You can also get aftermarket discs for them (PFC, AP, Girodisc) which is a common route. You can also get the aforementioned aftermarket discs for the PCCB's, but then you are limited to 20 inch wheels.

I'll definitely watch the reveal and I like that Cadillac are still doing high performance sedans, but I cant stand the character & styling so I won't consider one unless it's a deal I can't refuse like a CT-5V Blackwing for $60k or less which will never happen.

GT3 or GT4 in manual for me. Hoping to find a 991.2 but it will depend on price. However, I am still planning to hold on to my F80 comp as a daily.

I was planning to upgrade to the G80 but after seeing it, it's a no-go for me.
