totally !
I don't want to state out it is comfortable for everyone. For sure on the standards you have more comfort (also the leg rest you can take out for instance) but i drove the car about 1hr and it was absoloutely no problem for me. Yes the bulge is a thing which everyone should take a note when sitting and trying them, I did feel it on the leg especially when moving the feet from brake to throttle and vice versa

There was another forum member who got to drive the G82 with the carbon seats and he said they were comfortable. He was 5'10" and weighed about 216lbs. I'm about the same build so it makes me confident that I'll fit in them. Really want to sit in them before ordering though.

The way sport sedans handle today sports cars don't have to be tiny 2 doors cars anymore. In todays world the M3 is certainly a sport car.

Cf buckets are beautiful but i feel they would be best suited in a GT3 911 aka something thats not your daily..

from a daily perspective, i dont think these will wear well...

will have to wait for people to get their seats in these seats lol

The CF seats look great. The only downside I found with these is the side bulge - they are extremely uncomfortable when getting in or out.

I can see myself snagging with that when I have to jump out of the car because I am running late for the commuter train (which is all the time).

ive sat in them while i checked it out at my local dealer a while ago.. wrote a blurb in my post... https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1771919

I think from someone whos 6'2 230 (ive dropped a few lbs since that post) and a 20min stationary experience, the takeaway is, the side bolster isnt the problem, but the leg bolster could be bothersome as it really keeps you really in the seat and the obvious challenge from ingress/egress.

Have you spent any time in the Porsche fixed buckets for comparison?

I sat in the 718 GT4 a couple days back and was afraid the buckets were going to be horrible .. they were not and I'd probably get them for that car. Granted it would be a track car primarily and I'd expect more street time. I will say that even the mildly aggressive seats in my F80 had a major contribution to that "special feel" of the car and I think it would be a constant reminder that you're not in an m340i...

seats definitely something you need to follow your heart on!!

It looks to be comparable in comfort to the F80 comp seats I have on my CS. I based my decision to option them on that assumption. If that proved incorrect, I'll have to live with it. I'm 5'9" 185 and built. My primary concern is my legs won't fit because I spend 3 hours a week training them.

What about the bump in the middle?

I never have my legs in the middle of the seat, at least not that I'm aware of lol. I'll let you know in a few months.

The new Carbon buckets are one of the things the F8x has going for it, be a shame & an oversight to miss out on that imo.

Not if it feels like concrete after 1 hour of driving. Remember, I still have to drive to the track {Willow Springs in LA} and if my back is killing me when I arrive what good will the weight savings of the bucket seats do?

Id be surprised if thats the case (unless youve got back issues) given that they are still an adjustable 2 piece seat designed for road use, not a purpose built 1 piece race bucket.
The fact they will hold you in place correctly & allow a harness to be used is of much more benefit on track than the weight difference btw.
