F80 M3 CS vs G80 M3

Hi, have the ability to either take over cs lease or get new m3. This is going to be my 3rd car, meant to be weekend/fun toy so daily driver isn't that important for me. The lease terms im getting on G80 is a little bit more, but marginal for consideration purposes at about $120-160/month more. CS does have carbon brakes and about 15 month lease. Nice short lease. I love driving, proper spirited driving and plan to do some track days probably as well.

Was thinking of enjoying the CS, then maybe swapping into G80 M3 when Awd is out and lease rates have come down and I can actually check out the G80 in person. Or should I just get the RWD G80 now? I do love the new M3 styling by the way. What do you think?

I’m advising patience if you aren’t sure which you want. No one here knows how the G8X drives. I shouldn’t say no one; I’m pretty sure there are some insiders here who have seat time, but they will not say anything about it.

We know the tech and the seats will be better, but it is unknown whether it drives better than the CS.

This is good advice. Now imagine going into the dealer to order one and them requesting a 5K non refundable deposit for a car no one has ever seen in person. Walked right out.

As exciting as I am to get seat time in a G80 in a few months time, the scenario you presented in the second half of your post is one I wouldn’t pass up. 15 months in a CS (EVO car of the year) and the ability to wait until the car is spec’d the way you want it is available. Do it!!!

I may be mistaken but I thought the M2CS was the Evo car of the year. 🤷

That being said agree - have the best of both worlds!

Get the CS now and the AWD G80 later.

Best of both worlds and thinking similar myself.

Keep the CS, buy it out. This car is rare and, at least here in Switzerland/Europe, a most wanted thing. People go nuts to get the CS. I'm sure it will hold it's value very high.

Is that not what I said? I’m sure I stated the CS was the EVO car of the year.

Wrong CS...

OP is talking about F80 M3cs, not F87 M2cs

Well, my Cs options feel through because the swap a lease wasn't current and it actually pending. Damn, that sucks.

I guess G80 is the only option left now.

Never had a problem admitting when I’m wrong. My apologies.
