Exclamation G8X M3/M4 recall for Screw Connection Exhaust System

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey everyone,
So my G82 M4 is on the boat to MD. My CA and SA told me there is a recall for the Screw Connection Exhaust System.

My car is estimated to arrive in North America, USA 12/30/20.
We are hoping they can perform the recall at the port before it dispatches to the dealer.

We are unsure exactly what the recall is... But I'm stoked.

last time I checked you won't be seeing it till March next year. Plenty of time to dial in any issues. Yea they prob will address any issues at the port im sure

**Update 12-14
just want to make a small note here: I had our new car sales Mgr take a look at this and we have not seen any recall notice of any type come through yet on our end from BMW on the M3/4. We also checked status of ours that is in the process and there is no recall on them either. So not sure where your sales rep got this info but from our end we are not seeing anything. Maybe its something that is more specific on that particular car or small group of cars? : Either way Im sure it will be dialed in in time!! keep us posted if you hear anything more.

Most who lease end up returning so doesn't really matter. At the end of the day, it's just a recall that will be sorted out.

I've had the very first of the last 3 generations and don't regret it.

Likely not a recall (safety related) but a TSB.

Hopefully it will be a quick recall fix and you can get your G82 by next month.

On par with every new M car release.

Entire value chain is still very new to them; always try to wait until the second model year at least.

It's going to sit there for around 3 months so you shouldn't care. It's not like it's going to delay it given the March wait.

Aren't they March release though? Maybe see if it and all that is fine but are cars released in Jan?

Saying that there is always a killer thread on Bimmerpost from the 1st car out in the wild. Usually in the Emirates and the owner/poster gets 1,000,000 questions

There are many other examples of first year cars having no issues as well. Case in point my old M235i. When I bought that car I was one of the first to have it. The entire time I had that car just about 3 years, no recalls and literally 0 issues except if you want to nit pick, one of the bmw cap on the wheels fell off. My dealer just put a new one on at no cost.

It really has been a solid car for many years I see.

Still find it unlikely, unfortunately. I know the car will sit at port for another month at least. I am expecting mid-end February if I am lucky.

Of course not every 1st year car is crippled, but the statistical chance for more issues is certainly substantialy higher.

Ditto.

Don't see anything about a recall or anything on our M4.

again.... retail for US is march so that car is most likely going to sit at the port until February. Also i don't think it's a recall, its a TB that will be resolved when it gets to the VDC.

Where are you picking your car up from? Lynnwood, Seattle, Bellevue? It would be cool to see one of the first ones.
